LOSTPROPHETS NEW SINGLE "BRING 'EM DOWN" NOW AVAILABLE ON iTUNES; TRACK APPEARS ON NEW LP WEAPONS OUT JUNE 19 ON FEARLESS RECORDS; CATCH THEM ON VANS WARPED TOUR THIS SUMMER

Fearless Records will release Weapons throughout North America on June 19th. The album was recorded in North Hollywood, CA at NRG Studios with producer Ken Andrews (A Perfect Circle, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club).

UK Praise for Weapons:

"…Weapons showcases a band every bit as hungry as the one that blasted out of their Pontypridd rehearsal room a decade ago."- Kerrang!

Because of its compact form and committed performances, Weapons is a release that burns brightly. Its cause is aided by the fact that Lostprophets are a quite fabulous band in motion, one equipped with not just power but also nuance."- BBC Music

“another solid collection of anthems for their arsenal.”- Big Cheese

"Weapons does indeed mark a new beginning for Lostprophets. Where in the past they specialised in instant hits, now they're aiming for something larger and more long-lasting."- Rock Sound

Formed in Pontypridd, South Wales, the Welsh rock band have made their mark on both sides of the Atlantic with their blend of strong melodic choruses and aggressively edged rock. Through four previous albums - 2000's fakesoundofprogress, 2004's Start Something, 2006's Liberation Transmission, and 2010'sThe Betrayed - the band has grown, both in songwriting and success, stacking up a dozen or so top 40 singles and selling over 2 million albums worldwide.  Recipients of Kerrang! Magazine's 2010's Classic Songwriters Award, Lostprophets have become one of the U.K.'s biggest rock bands, gracing countless magazine covers and headlining stages at Reading/Leeds and Download Festivals.

VHS or Beta Announce Dub Album, US Tour + MP3

VHS or Beta’s forthcoming album Diamonds & Dub picks up from where their last album left off. Putting a creative spin on their 2011 release Diamonds & Death, VHS duo Mark Palgy & Craig Pfunder called upon renowned DJ/producer Jacques Renault (Holy Ghost, YACHT, Midnight Magic) and engineer/remixer Mark Verbos (Fischerspooner, The Gossip, Gang of Four) to create a dub version for seven of the original album’s 9 tracks.Diamonds & Dub will be released May 8 via Krian Music Group.

The idea was conceived when Mark Palgy met Jacques Renault, who was spinning boogie and disco records in Brooklyn bar Commodore. Palgy explains, “The idea of dub versions began in the late 70s and early 80s. Artists began seeking extended 12 inch mixes of their songs to be played in nightclubs. And usually one side of the 12 inch had a ‘dub version’ which was a little less vocal and usually a bit spacier due to echoes made from spring reverbs and cool studio effects. So rather than get people to do more traditional remixes as we know them today -- we decided this time around to try something that hasn't been done in a little while.”

Jellybean Dub” is a dark atmospheric spaced-out track that slowly builds to a climax with handclaps, electric piano and thumping bass. “I Found A Reason Dub” is armed with a flurry of tambourine and driving piano, while title track “Diamonds and Dub” sprinkles vocals over a landscape of beats, low sub bass lines, blips and bumps and warped oscillating synths.

Mid tempo, dancey & atmospheric, Diamonds & Dub takes you on a trip through the minds of these creative electroniceers. Be sure to catch them on tour this month!

AMENRA Enter Studio; Neurot Recordings Debut Begins To Take Shape

Neurot Recordings proudly announce that AMENRA have entered the studio this week to record their fourth full-length, Mass V.

Producing the record is the brilliant Billy Anderson (Eyehategod, Neurosis, Om, Swans, etc.) and for the setting, La Chapelle, an old chapel now turned professional studio, in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. For AMENRA this is the ideal ground to record Mass V, their "heaviest and slowest album to this day" as per vocalist Colin Van Eeckhout. He continues to reveal how this record was "the hardest one for us to write and record, it nearly killed us. it's the album we said we were never going to write." Expect an absolutely crushing release from them later this year on their new home, Neurot Recordings.

As previously reported, Neurot Recordings founder and Neurosis guitarist/vocalist Steve Von Till commented "I am eagerly awaiting the sonically induced spirit quest that will be Mass V at the Church of Ra.” - and so are we!

AMENRA will gladly be interviewed about this recording process so if you are interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch and you can expect more rituals from the Church of Ra in the coming months.

Check out this promotional video for the band's Russian and Ukranian tour which kicks off on May 16th in St Petersburg and more AT THIS LOCATION.

SPIDER ROCKETS Offering Free Download of New Single "Scream"

New Album Bitten Available June 5th

SPIDER ROCKETS want to be sure that everyone is ready to get Bitten with their new album on June 5th. To give the fans a taste of what they can expect on their new album, SPIDER ROCKETS are offering 10,000 free downloads of their new single "Scream".

Singer Helena Cos commented on the free gift the band has spun up for their fans:

"Group hug or a good scream?  Sometimes nothing beats a good scream.  Our song, 'Scream,' seems to resonate with people and we wanted to do something special to thank our fans for the support."

Be sure to check out the exclusive three part video "Coffee Talk" series which is being hosted exclusively by AMP Magazine. In the first installment SPIDER ROCKETS dissect the first tracks from Bitten and answer some very interesting and intriguing questions. Look for the second and third segments to be released in the coming weeks.

SPIDER ROCKETS combines contemporary loud rock with classic rock elements. The New Jersey based band travels the sonic spectrum from dark and seductive to energetic to angry, with a dynamic live show and scream-along anthems. Interestingly enough for a band called SPIDER ROCKETS, it is a bit strange that every member of the band is afraid of spiders... Although it seems that they may be starting to overcome their fear based on the title of their new album,Bitten

On Bitten, the band worked once again with producer Eric Rachel in New Jersey. In South Florida, Ryan Sambrook provided additional production and Zach Ziskin mixed the album. From both a compositional and performance standpoint, Bitten is the group's strongest work to date. Long before completion of the record, an early rendition of one stand-out track "Scream," garnered over 35,000 hits on YouTube without any promotional efforts and no official release. It is available for viewing HERE.

Now, savvy at the art of song-crafting, SPIDER ROCKETS is ready to unleash Bitten upon the masses. SPIDER ROCKETS will be lining up national tour dates in support of the album. Preliminary dates are listed below with more dates to be announced shortly.

SPIDER ROCKETS was one of the last acts famed manager Bill Aucoin (who has managed acts including Kiss, Lordi, Tantric and others) was contemplating taking on. When Aucoin passed away in 2010, his long time partner and companion, Roman Fernandez, took over day-to-day management of SPIDER ROCKETS. Fernandez did this because he truly believes in the band and wants to make sure SPIDER ROCKETS continue following in the legacy of Aucoin.

Bitten Track Listing:
1)      Going Down
2)      So High
3)      Scream
4)      Don't Need You
5)      Break

Siddhartha releases debut LP today; premieres new track on Consequence of Sound!

Photo: Zack Wojcik

Because of soil made from gold flakes, and strips of cosmic flesh that fell from the astroplane, a tree grows in a place where everything has been replaced with city buildings. When the rainbow collapsed and the 4th dimension became too overpopulated, the Siddhartha came glaring with love, and diamonds in place of sinew and fingernails. Musically speaking, stare in the mirror a little longer, and then understand...

In November 2009, singer/songwriter Marlon Hauser met his fellow band mates while wandering the streets of San Francisco, in the middle of a permanent existential crisis. Upon that monent, their writing process began and has bewitchingly metamorphosized into an all-emcompasing live musical transformative experience. While carving out an idiosyncratic niche for freak followers, Siddhartha's music is becoming known as "Dashiki Shoegaze" - a genre all it's own.

Hauser's reflection on IF IT DIE:

The record was recorded and mixed in my home, 450 Harrison Street at the Maritime Hall, and in my friends living room when I was homeless for a bit last year. The recording process spanned from about September 2010 until the same time of year in 2011. During that period, I was either homeless or living in my current living space with no windows. It's made me a bit strange, I think. It's a good thing, I think. I'm able to escape the sound and interference of the outside world. It's akin to living in a sensory deprivation tank.

The instruments used were guitars, electric and acoustic, drums, bass, African xylophone, and djembe. I did all the vocals. I hope to get more instruments soon. I can play any instrument I want. It's all about hearing the sound first in your head and then making your hands do the rest.
Upcoming Shows:
05.04 · San Francisco, CA - Yoshi's (record release show)
05.11 · Long Beach, CA - Alex's Bar
05.13 · Los Angles, CA - Bootleg Theater

The story behind the record is the story of Siddhartha and what the entity goes through on this earth. A range of issues from love to morality, to violence, to the existence of the soul and is it possible to monetize the soul. It is also the personal story for me of how much I miss my son. I have sacrificed everything in my life to make music. Including my family.

The story behind the title...IF IT DIE...THEN GIVE IT LIFE. The world is changing, I believe that a huge influx of positive energy is needed to save us. Save the babies. Save the children. IF IT DIE is an observation of the world from another entity.

Marriages (3/5 of Red Sparowes) release debut today, stream full album at Spinner.com

Marriages

"If first impressions are everything, Marriages are in great shape... A muscular, beautifully marbled slab of mood-rock that sounds like a band about to howl." -- SPIN Magazine

"The dark, moody effort is hypnotic and occasionally experimental, employing vocals against heavy backdrops in a way that's a big left-hand turn from their other band." -- RCRD LBL

Marriages is a new band comprised of Red Sparowes members Emma Ruth Rundle (vocals, guitar), Greg Burns (bass, synthesizer) and David Clifford (drums). Their sound is a singularly sensual kind of heavy, dramatic rock, but perhaps the most stark contrast to their other band, Marriages employs vocals in their songs. Their music is also considerably darker and more experimental, drawn from a wide range of styles and ideas. Emma's breathy, understated delivery provides a focal point - the eye of the proverbial storm. A haunting presence, as elusive as it is alluring, her voice is a shore upon which waves of overdriven bass, thunderous drums, and cosmic guitars and synths swell and crash.

Kitsune is their 6-song debut release, a short introduction of an album whose undeniably epic proportions suggest massive things to come. Recorded with the formidable Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Red Sparowes, Tool) at the controls, Kitsune presents a collection of poignant, emotionally-charged tracks that wriggle free of easy classification. The comparisons are diverse; Cocteau Twins and Zola Jesus would appear to be as influential as Boris and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. The songs came together quickly as the band wrote and played their first shows in November 2011 and wrapped recording in January 2012.

Album opener "Ride in My Place" sets the tone, immediately revealing the undulating, reverb-cloaked darkness at the band's core. Sounding not unlike PJ Harvey fronting an overdriven rendition of Pink Floyd's "Echoes", the fittingly-titled song arrives as a fully-formed companion piece for expansive landscapes, perhaps traversing the vastness of the American west.  Hardly overstaying its welcome, the track soon gives way to "Body of Shade", whose cryptic "My body gone forever..." lyric suggests a sort of transcendence echoed in the music itself -- Clifford's steady backbeat, the tense rhythm and the swirling interplay of synth and cascading guitars recalling the finer moments of The Verve's early recordings. Opening with a celestial keyboard loop and quickly gaining weight, third track "Ten Tiny Fingers" builds upon a heavy dirge-like rhythm punctuated by Rundle's vocals, which by now clearly occupy a place among esteemed peers such as label mates Chelsea Wolfe and Lisa Papineau. The song's cryptic, claustrophobic lyrics, contrasted with a loose (but by no means less thunderous) atmosphere and sense of impending collapse bring to mind The Cure, circa Pornography. The next track, "Pelt", is borne from the decaying remnants of "Ten Tiny Fingers". A menacingly hypnotic three-minute meditation on minimalist doom, it serves as the perfect introduction to the distorted, bass-driven hard rock and wailing psychedelia of instrumental track "White Shape". Seven-minute closer "Part the Dark Again" is a song whose cinematic scope recalls precisely the kind of grandiosity Red Sparowes are synonymous with, taken to its logical extreme. The impassioned, struggling-against-the-odds sentiment of the vocals ("Part the darkness in my heart", "Don't say it's nothing...", etc.) takes things over the top emotionally, culminating in a soaring, melancholic riff that grinds to a halt far earlier than you'd expect. Throughout, Rundle unassumingly steps to the forefront, showcasing her unique talents as a guitarist often overlooked within Red Sparowes' three guitar onslaught.

Kitsune is an exciting debut release from a band well aware of their potential, harnessing the skills to fulfill it. Marriages are an expansive, visionary development, a unique combination of elements, a sound signposting the path ahead...Kitsune is available on LP, CD and download via Sargent Houseas of May 1st, 2012.
