February 9, 2009, New York, NY -- Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment are excited to announce the initial lineup for the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. The ninth annual four-day camping and music festival will be held on June 10 - 13 on the same beautiful 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles south of Nashville. A full list of confirmed acts follows, and more will be announced in the coming weeks. The final Bonnaroo 2010 lineup will total over 125 bands and over 20 comedians performing on 13 stages over four days.Tickets are on sale now exclusively at bonnaroo.com!
Perhaps bringing you the most diverse and ambitious lineup to date, the 2010 event draws world-class acts from a staggering range of musical worlds. This year the festival features the Dave Matthews Band, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Weezer, Flaming Lips performing Dark Side Of The Moon, The Dead Weather, Phoenix, John Fogerty, Jimmy Cliff, Tenacious D, Zac Brown Band, Avett Brothers, Norah Jones, LCD Soundsystem, Tori Amos, The National, Jeff Beck, Michael Franti, Against Me!, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Baaba Maal, The Melvins, Thievery Corporation to name but a small portion of the deep lineup. Wonder's Bonnaroo performance marks a rare festival appearance for the legend, whose illustrious songbook continues to be as influential and significant today as ever. Bonnaroo veterans Kings of Leon are the first band in the history of the festival to start on a tent stage and work their way up to the coveted headlining slot. They were first booked to play a tent stage early in the day in 2004. They have gone on to perform at Bonnaroo several times, each appearance bigger than the last. This will be one of the very few appearances the band will make in 2010.
The largest and most revered music and camping event in the country, Bonnaroo has elevated the American rock festival to an unprecedented level. As the only round-the-clock major U.S. music festival, Bonnaroo packs an unparalleled amount of entertainment options into its four days. The event has offered its attendees the amenities and community spirit of a small city, with 24 hours of activities including a comedy theater, cinema festival, jazz club, silent disco, arcade, Internet cafés, restaurants, yoga classes and hundreds of high quality craft vendors. Since its inception, Bonnaroo swiftly earned its status as the country's premier music and arts event. The Wall Street Journal called Bonnaroo "one of rock's best festivals," continuing to hail that the 2009 lineup "fairly bursts with some of the most gifted acts in rock and pop." Entertainment Weekly called it "the best of all sonic worlds," while the New York Times said, "Bonnaroo's very loose mandate - and a wise one for any festival - is to choose performers who deliver in a live performance, with current hits and studio expertise as lower priorities. One of the pleasures of the festival is that it defies narrowcasting: It's not an Americana festival, an indie-rock festival, a gathering of 2008-9 hitmakers or anything but what its producers and, presumably, ticket-buyers are happy to hear." Rolling Stone called Bonnaroo "one of the 50 moments to change the history of rock and roll."
Once again, Bonnaroo has created a couple of unique ticketing options for its fans. The festival is offering a special payment plan in whichtickets will be available for five (5) payments of $50.00 plus applicable fees. In addition, fans will have the option to purchase a Bonnaroo Green Ticket that will help to support the development and implementation of sustainable improvements at the festival for years to come. Festival organizers are constantly looking for ways to be aggressive with mitigating the event's environmental impact and raising awareness about green issues.
As part of Fuse's three-year deal with Bonnaroo, the network will be back as the exclusive television partner of the festival. Fuse will be reporting live from Bonnaroo throughout the weekend and will air a special, featuring interviews with the hottest bands and performances from this year's star-studded lineup. www.fuse.tv

AM's New LP Out Today, "It's Been So Long" Today's Top Tune on KCRW
"AM has an uncanny knack for crafting pop songs shaken and stirred
with Philly R&B, Motown soul, '60s rock and folk, and Brazilian rhythms that
get in your head and swirl around for a spell."
- Creative Loafing (Atlanta)
AM's impressive new album, Future Sons & Daughters, is out TODAY on Filter US Recordings and to celebrate KCRW has handpicked "It's Been So Long" as Today's Top Tune, offering it for free download and exclaiming: "LA-based AM may not be an easy artist to Google but his music is contagious." LISTEN HERE.
The multi-instrumentalist's sophomore LP was produced by Charles Newman (Magnetic Fields) and has been receiving glowing reviews with American Songwriter calling the album "a truly spectacular musical mosaic."

Schooner releases "Duck Kee Sessions" EP today, with all proceeds going to brain cancer research.
Schooner releases Duck Kee Sessions EP today on Cytunes.org, a music downloading site with all proceeds going to brain cancer research.
Free MP3: Schooner -- "Feel Better"
"From their most recent songs to their always impressive live shows, this is a band you need in your life." – Ear Farm
Duck Kee Sessions, the new EP by Carrboro, North Carolina quartet, Schooner, is available today exclusively through Cytunes.org. Named after Cy Rawls, a NC music scene staple and friend of the band that lost his struggle with brain cancer, Cytunes is a website where musicians can upload music (Superchunk, The Rosebuds, Polvo, and many more artists have exclusive material on the site), and fans can purchase music with 100% of the proceeds going to brain cancer research.
Schooner recognized Cytunes as the most meaningful place for it's newest songs, Duck Kee Sessions, recorded at the legendary Jerry Kee's Duck Kee Studios (Superchunk, Kingsbury Manx, Polvo). A variety of album covers for Duck Kee Sessions are available with numerous North Carolina-based artists contributing unique works for the project. Contributing artists’ artwork will be featured at the Duck Kee Sessions EP release party.
Duck Kee Sessions EP release party:
February 19, 2010 at The Pinhook - Durham, North Carolina
This version of Duck Kee Sessions artwork by Ron Liberti (of Merge artists Pipe)
Hailing from Carrboro, North Carolina, Schooner is a four-member band currently comprised of Reid Johnson (whose sister, Kathryn, played and recorded on all of the band's material until recently), Billy Alphin (The Ashley Stove, The Rosebuds), Maria Albani (Organos, Pleasant), and Chris Badger (Hotel Lights). Together they create an understated, disheveled pop sound that ranges from narcotic sad-eyed tunes to erratic rock numbers highlighted by boy-girl harmonies and impressionist lyrics.
Schooner has released two full-length albums, You Forget About Your Heart (Pox World Empire Records) and Hold on Too Tight (54, 40 or Fight Records), along with a few limited edition EP's. The band's latest EP release, Duck Kee Sessions, recorded at the legendary Jerry Kee's Duck Kee Studios (Superchunk, Kingsbury Manx, Polvo) will be released exclusively on Cytunes.org, a music downloading site that donates all proceeds to brain cancer research.
Soon after Cy Rawls, a music scene staple in NC and friend of the band, began his struggle with brain cancer, Cytunes was conceived of by Chris Rossi (Spacelab Studio) to help with mounting hospital bills. After Rawls passed away in October 2008, the concept of Cytunes changed; it became a site where musicians can upload music (Superchunk, The Rosebuds, Polvo, and many more artists have exclusive material on the site), and fans can purchase music with 100% of the proceeds going to brain cancer research.
Johnson has released music on the site via The Flute Flies, a studio band which consists of him and Ivan Howard (The Rosebuds), and Zeno Gill (Pox World Empire), and realized that Cytunes was the most meaningful place for Schooner's newest recordings. The band began talking with Chris Rossi about selling download codes at their shows for Duck Kee Sessions and incorporating friends' artwork to buy via codes as well.
Contributing artists’ artwork will be featured at the Duck Kee Sessions EP release party. The artwork will be available February 19, 2010 at The Pinhook in Durham with Erie Choir, Veelee, and The Popular Kids, a comedy troupe that counts Cy Rawls and Johnson as former members. Some of the artists include: Ron Liberti (Pipe), Chris Williams (Plastic Flame Press), Will Hackney (Trekky Records, Lost in the Trees), and Catherine Edgerton (Midtown Dickens).
Schooner will be recording another full-length album in the Spring of 2010.

"Brooklyn's very own Madonna." - New York Press
"Unabashedly slick electro-pop beats juxtaposed with coy, romantically depressed vocals courtesy of star-in-the-making Elizabeth Harper." - New York Magazine (Cover Story) Brooklyn's Sonic Boom - The 40 Songs That Define the Sound
"[Harper's] passion proves to be the same kind of compelling counterweight to frosty sonics that helped make the music of her influences so memorable." - Pitchfork ("Rising Artist")
"sweetly spectral vocals over lush '80s synths and beats." - NYLON
"New York is no stranger to disco-influenced electro-pop, but there's always room for another addition to the party....cool and collected vocal hooks from [Elizabeth] Harper's sultry croon floating atop a straightforward dance beat rife with shimmering synths and bouncing basslines." - XLR8R
"Any band that cites Madonna's first album as a major influence is gonna get a listen from me...their super 80s vibe made the scene feel like the climax of a John Hughes movie, aka awesome. At the end of their short set, I had hearts in my eyes."- BUST

Dark pop group Southerly goes Negativist with new EP, plots International tour
Portland, OR is widely known for its wealth of dark-pop songwriters, and Southerly is one of its very best. The nom-de-tune of Krist Krueger, Southerly has announced the release of a lush, layered new work titled Champion Of The Noisy Negativists on February 19th, 2010. The digital/CD/vinyl EP via the Self Group imprint follows the artist's celebrated 2007 album, Storyteller And The Gossip Columnist (Greyday Records).
To kick off the EP release, Southerly launches a tour throughout Europe with Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band beginning February 18th. A hometown sendoff is slated for Tuesday, February 16th at Kelly's Olympian in Portland with four bands sharing various Southerly members. See below for complete dates.
Picking up where the latest full-length, Storyteller And The Gossip Columnist left off, listeners can hear the natural progression toward what ultimately became Champion: a swooning, eerie, beautiful, morose and uplifting soundscape that serves as an undeniable reminder of the tension, release, intensity and intrinsic harmony that all of us experience and celebrate in life. Unlike the previous disc, Champion is a largely instrumental affair, using vocals as additional layers, rather than the music's guide.
Champion Of The Noisy Negativists is a continuation in the evolution of songwriter/producer Krist Krueger, whose work has often been compared to fellow moody pop artists The National, Brendan Benson, Richard Ashcroft and Tindersticks. Predominantly recorded at Krueger’s own Sonic Sandbox (Portland, OR) and completed at Haywire Studios (Portland, OR), Champion was engineered by both Krueger and Robert Bartleson and produced by Krueger.
Are you a champion of the noisy negativists?
The EP is dedicated to and in memory of Jeff Hanson, please visit

FUTURE ISLANDS Announce NEW Album "In Evening Air"!
Release set for May 4th on Thrill Jockey Records!
Future Islands are back with a brand new album and Thrill Jockey full-length debut entitled "In Evening Air".
Comprised of J. Gerrit Welmers (synthesizers and programming), William Cashion (bass), and Samuel T. Herring (vocals), Future Islands has continued to make passionate music through an electronic medium for the past four years. [Although, the three have been working and performing since the spring of 2003.] They call their music "Post-Wave," taking in part from the emotional fragility of New Wave and coupling it with the power and drive of Post-Punk.
Their music is spearheaded by Welmers, whose layers of synths and drums create the landscape for Cashion's punching-strum style, that pulses and fights--the two--creating noise and bliss. Herring, who has been called "one of the most magnetic frontmen in indie rock," finds his space in between. Carving through the music, at times, with a whispering croon, and at others, with a deathly wail.
"In Evening Air" marks the first full-length release from Future Islands since moving to Baltimore, and also their first full-length release as a focused three piece. However, there's no lack of spirit in this paring down. More so, there's a greater intensity and eye to detail than we have yet witnessed from the group. These changes are felt and heard. "In Evening Air" takes us and swirls us around those feelings of growing outside of one's city and one's self. It moves through gripping loss and the search for peace from a heavy head, with an ease and understanding where there was none.
With production by Chester Endersby Gwazda, Future Islands fuses together their poetry with a dynamic musical range. Traveling from the slow burn to the highly ecstatic while holding on to the quill and not letting go. These songs are answers. They are born from fire and pain, yet are filled with light, acting as breathless testaments to love and it's consequences. But this isn't just a group of songs. This is a book of stories. From darkly quiescent and imaginative tales, to the passionate burnings of a searching heart. From the fear of being misunderstood and coming to terms with the loss of love. Future Islands speaks a language of forever and always, with an honesty that falls but never touches the ground.
Track List:
1. Walking Through That Door
2. Long Flight
3. Tin Man
4. An Apology
5. In Evening Air
6. Swept Inside
7. Inch of Dust
8. Vireo's Eye
9. As I Fall

GRIEVES SIGNS TO RHYMESAYERS ENTERTAINMENT, REISSUES 2008 ALBUM 88 KEYS AND COUNTING
NYC-BASED RAPPER AND PRODUCER DROPS CD REISSUE MARCH 2nd, NEW STUDIO ALBUM DUE FALL 2010
US TOUR DATES SUPPORTING P.O.S. BEGIN 2/4 IN COLORADO SPRINGS, SXSW APPEARANCES TBA
The New York City-based rapper, producer, and multi-faceted performer Grieves has announced the reissue of his breakout sophomore album, 2008's 88 Keys and Counting, coming March 2nd on Rhymesayers Entertainment.
Since his birth in Chicago, IL, Benjamin Laub (bka Grieves) enjoyed a diverse musical upbringing, exposed at an early age to the city's local jazz and blues clubs by his father. After relocating to Fort Collins, CO and eventually Seattle at age 19, Grieves had broadened his array of musical influences to include punk rock and eventually became completely immersed in Hip Hop as an art form.
Following his debut album Irreversible in 2007, Grieves began collaborating with local Seattle-based producer Budo, a talented multi-instrumentalist that helped complete the organic-yet-intense sound of 15 melodic, sample-free tracks that became 88 Keys & Counting. Following rave reviews of the album's mainly digital release, Grieves and Budo hit the road once again to set up shop in New York City, where they are currently at work on the follow-up to 88 Keys, due for a Fall release this year on Rhymesayers. Untethered to common restraints of the hip-hop genre, the combination of Grieves' singing and rapping with the refreshing horn, guitar, and keyboard driven production by Budo presents Grieves strongest work to date.
