IN ALCATRAZ 1962 to Release The Drive October 9th on Standby Records

Artwork and Tracklisting Revealed

Northern Virginia is a place like anywhere else, where the stresses of day to day life can both define and destroy the inner workings of so many people's souls.  It's the kind of place where the tragedy of the individual's experiences destroys so many people, and yet defines the undying will to grow and thrive for only the strongest of the strong.  For those very few people, their triumph over tragedy comes when they discover that they have The Drive.

Formed in 2005, IN ALCATRAZ 1962 is a band whose determination to succeed has never been questioned.  Their blistering sound is regularly compared to "The Ghost Inside on crack", and yet provides the lyrical focus needed by so many of today's metal fans to find the deep inner determination to succeed.  With their debut release on Standby Records, IN ALCATRAZ 1962 has delivered a release in The Drive that will not only pummel fans with intensity and rage, but will prove to so many of today's expendable youth that the ills of their lives can be overcome with hard work and commitment to succeed.

"The Drive is all about overcoming any and all obstacles thrown at you in life," states the band.  "The record is dark, but uplifting and inspiring.  It hits hard at home."

Indeed it does.  Songs like the first single, "Aspirations", impact a listener like a sledgehammer to the skull; both in terms of message as well as the brute force they deliver sonically.  Produced by Don DeBiase at Studio D Productions (Modern Day Escape, Along Came A Spider, Vanilla Ice), The Drive packs a wallop that's found by only a select few bands who mix in a tight sound with raging aggression.  As a band that never stops touring, IN ALCATRAZ 1962 has honed their pummeling sound while winning fans each and every night on stage.  According to the band, it's the live experience that defines their sound.

"A lot of bands now are awesome on CD and all hyped up online, but when you see them live they can't deliver," the band relates.  "We put our everything into our live shows. The audience can really feel, and connect with us. Our sound also separates us from everyone else. We're influenced by a lot of different bands and genres.  We incorporate a few different genres into our music, and this allows us to reach a variety of different listeners."

With their intensely personal lyrics and a ferocious live stage show to match, IN ALCATRAZ 1962 has proven that they are a force to be recognized with the release of The Drive.  The question is, do you have The Drive to appreciate what they deliver?
