Midnight Magic Releases New Video, US Tour Kicks Off 10/31!

"sparkling synths and chase-scene horns go at a jogger's pace while Tiffany Roth's throaty croon smolders rather than erupting in flames" – Resident Advisor

"Untethered from disco's four-to-the-floor pulse, the nine-piece New York group of DFA alumnae rides aloft a breezy synthesizer melody and swirls of dub delay" – SPIN

"custom crafted to make you sweat, and let the rhythm move you" – KCRW

“... disco, boogie, and old-school electro sounds for a modern scene.” – XLR8R

Midnight Magic’s blend of funk, soul, and electro-tinged disco has been setting airwaves and dance floors ablaze in NYC where they lay their roots and beyond. Since bursting onto the scene in 2009 with a series of 12” singles, including the dance floor smash “Beam Me Up”, the band has become revered for their irresistibly catchy hooks and seductive live show. The band will kick off a national fall tour which kicks off in Portland, OR on Halloween! The psychedelic-soul army has struck again with their debut full length, Walking The Midnight Streets, out November 13th on their own Midnight Sun Sound.

Space invader and title track “Walking The Midnight Streets” opens the album with bright horn melodies and commanding vocals before flowing into the infectious base line of “Beam Me Up,” which continues heat up dance floors internationally. “Diamonds” is flush with rich brass melodies, rolling synths and cavernous, echoing vocals. A smooth, seductive track driven by bursts of horns over a funky bass line, we shared the “Same Way I Feel” MP3 last month and today the band has unleashed a beautifully edited live studio video of the track. Watch the “Same Way I Feel” Live Studio video where it premiered with Consequence of Sound today or HERE. Feel free to post & share!

Having performed alongside bands like Holy Ghost, Cut Copy, and Escort, Midnight Magic has proven to be a force both in the studio and on the stage. The nine-piece ensemble is comprised of Max Goldman, Caito Sanchez, Andrew Frawley and, alumnae of many celebrated DFA bands (such as the late LCD Soundsystem), Carter Yasutake,Morgan Wiley, Nick Roseboro, Jason Disu and W. Andrew Raposo, setting a solid foundation for the vocal stylings of frontwoman Tiffany Roth.
