“Stay On The Bright Side” is the latest Red Wanting Blue single. Check out the “Daily Download” at Rolling Stone!
Columbus, Ohio-band Red Wanting Blue launched its “From The Vanishing Point” Fall 2012 tour in September. The run, in support of the album of the same name, will continue through the end of the year and makes its way back to the NYC area this week with an appearance byRed Wanting Blue on VH1’s morning show “Big Morning Buzz Live.” The band will perform “Audition” on the show at 10AM EST on Tuesday, October 16th. Red Wanting Blue previously performed the song during its network television debut on the “Late Show with David Letterman” in July.
“Stay On The Bright Side,” another track from the From The Vanishing Point album is now the “Daily Download” at Rolling Stone. Red Wanting Blue is also looking forward to a performance for the NPR program “Mountain Stage” which will tape on November 4th in Huntington, WV with fellow guests Dr. Dog, The Mountain Goats, and Spirit Family Reunion. The concert will air on more than 150 NPRaffiliates nationwide in December.
For those who have not had the chance to catch a Red Wanting Blue show, the Chicago-based Audiotree site has just posted a multi-camera, hour-long session with the band at: http://audiotree.tv/session/red-wanting-blue and Red Wanting Blue has made a soundboard recording of its recent sold-out show at City Winery in New York available for free download via Noisetrade at http://noisetrade.com/redwantingblue. A session recorded for Daytrotter will post later this month, as well.
Since the release of From The Vanishing Point in January, 2012, Red Wanting Blue has seen a steady increase in attention being paid to the sound that band leader Scott Terry has been bringing to America for over a decade. With an advance sell-out at the 1400-capacity House of Blues in Cleveland to a Top 10 debut on the Billboard “Heatseekers” chart, Red Wanting Blue’s story is a textbook case of local boys making good.
