Grammy nominated recording artist Miguel’s critically acclaimed spectacular sophomore effort, Kaleidoscope Dream (ByStorm/RCA) debuts at #1 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart and enters at#3 on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums and Top Digital Albums charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The singer also celebrates five consecutive weeks at #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart for the groundbreaking album’s lead and towering ode, “Adorn.”

Kaleidoscope Dream, the follow-up to the Los Angeles vocalist 2010 All I Want Is You debut album, arrived on October 2nd to impressive music reviews. SPIN praised Miguel with “impeccable songwriting chops and a deceptively supple voice, not to mention total command of both.” Associated Press (AP) described the piece as “oozes sex with a bit of rock ‘n’ roll and funk, further elevating and pushing the elasticity of R&B.” Pitchfork.com also crowned the 11-song set as “Best New Music” and highlighted the “Adorn” follow-up single, “Do You…,”as “an ethereal cloud of synth, voices streaming like angelic choirs before stumbling into a verse buoyed by its own euphoria.”

To further amplify the stellar delivery of Kaleidoscope Dream, the singer is gearing to take the stage on the popular late night TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live after recently giving radiant performances on The Wendy Williams Show, The Late Show with David Letterman and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live. This fall, Miguel will continue to extend the reach of the album by blazing city-to-city on the Trey Songz headlining “Chapter V World Tour.”  Sponsored by social video-chat and instant messaging company, ooVoo, the tour features Miguel’s RCA Records label mate, Elle Varner and kicks off on November 17th at historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA (tour dates are listed further below).  Tickets for the tour will go on sale starting on October 12th.

As a testament to his enlightening and genre bending sound, Miguel is being acknowledged by this year’s Soul Train Awards. The singer is nominated for “Best R&B/ Soul Male Artist,” “Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for his memorable vocal assistance on rapper Wale’s hit “Lotus Flower Bomb,” as well as “The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award” for his contribution to the John Legend featuring Ludacris song, “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).” The awards will be hosted by comedy veteran Cedric the Entertainer and will air on Sunday, November 25th at 9PM ET on BET and Centric.

Signed to Mark Pitts’ ByStorm imprint in 2007, Grammy-nominated Miguel’s progressive 2010 debut album All I Want Is You, spawned two #1 hit singles - “Quickie” and “Sure Thing,” as well as the album title track. While his debut album earned him unanimous praise, his current release, Kaleidoscope Dream takes him down a new path of musical exploration with ground breaking, cutting edge precision. The album features production from Salaam Remi [Amy Winehouse, Adele], Pop & Oak [Kanye West, Big Sean], and Jerry Wonda [The Fugees, Wyclef Jean] amongst others.
