Modular and Young Dreams are proud to present the first official Young Dreams single, ‘Fog Of War’, off their forthcoming debut album, due in early 2013. It premiered on Pitchfork earlier today.

The ‘Fog Of War’ single, with remixes by Korallreven, Lemonade, and Baio, will be available digitally Oct 12^th (AUS), Oct 15^th (UK/EU), and Oct 16^th(USA).

“I don't really prefer to tell people too much about the exact meaning of the music and lyrics. I want the listener to interpret the track freely and make up their own thoughts and impressions of it. There should be room for creativity within the listener as well.

 

If I have to say something about "Fog of War" it would be that it's about not seeing clearly what's happening on the other side. It creates a need for help in a desperate situation - hence "Fog of War" and the cry for help from Athena (Athene) who is the goddess of wisdom, courage and inspiration in Greek mythology.”

Young Dreams are a symphonic pop ensemble from Bergen, Norway, headed up by the mighty Matias Tellez. With a lineup of musicians that starts at seven and blossoms to as many as twelve at any given performance, they’ve already captured the imaginations of dreamy pop lovers internationally via just a couple of limited but potent releases, including the self-titled single ‘Young Dreams’.

This October sees them mount their largest European Tour to date, supporting label-mates Tame Impala on their Lonerism album tour. Young Dreams have also contributed an alternate version of Tame Impala’s ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’, which will be available digitally and on 7” vinyl as part of the ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ single, out Nov 16^th (AUS), Nov 19^th (UK/EU), and Nov 20^th (USA).
