“A triumphal, broad shouldered march…”—The New York Times

“Standout, haunting folk…”—NPR

Extraordinary”—The Independent

“A debut album of beauty and vigor.”—Sunday Times

“Full of hard-won wisdom that belie his age…He’ll make listening to acoustic folk-tinged music feel like the first time.”—The Guardian

Every Kingdom, the highly praised album from British musician Ben Howard, is available now. The record debuted Top 10 on the U.K. charts, is now certified Platinum, and has been nominated for Mercury Prize “Album of the Year.” Additionally, the music continues to garner widespread praise—The New York Times explains, “Howard’s songs…cascade from his fingers, gathering words and melodies as they go, carrying his reedy, tremulous voice as their crescendos surge,” and NYLON Guys calls the album “a mélange of intricate acoustic guitar work and sweet, hum-along choruses.” Furthermore, NY Daily News lauds the record as “fired by flinty textures of guitar,” while Philadelphia Inquirer describes it as “touched by tender lyricism.” Howard made his U.S. network television debut on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and also recently performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

The young singer-songwriter, whose celebrated live performances have resulted in back to back sell-out tours to a rapidly growing fanbase, recently completed a U.S. run with several at capacity shows. In the past year he appeared at various festivals worldwide, including SXSW, Sasquatch! Music Festival, and Bonnaroo. Of Howard’s live set, KCRW explains “[he] has the audience in musical awe” while NBC San Diego continues, “the buzz and excitement is palpable.” Howard is now set to play at Austin City Limits in October.

Every Kingdom was recorded in a converted barn nestled between the countryside and the sea. It turned out darker in its lyrical content than Howard imagined it would and is filled with natural imagery of the Devonshire landscape where he grew up and presently resides. The album has received high praise from the British press and influential stations such as BBC Radio1. In the U.S., Howard’s current single “Only Love” is climbing the Triple A Radio chart.
