BIG EYES have announced a late fall US tour and new split 7" on Volar Records, both with SoCal band Audacity (Recess Records/Burger Records). The tour, which kicks off November 1st in Portland, sees the band circling the United States before ending in Santa Cruz on December 9th. The gritty garage poppers, who first attracted attention in 2011 with the release of their debut full-length Hard Life on Don Giovanni, are currently hard at work recording their sophomore LP. The as-yet-untitled album is slated for an early 2013 release on Grave Mistake Records, who released their 2012 7" EP Back from the Moon. Grave Mistake has also teamed up with Evil Weevil Records to repress Big Eyes' 2010 Demo 7", which will be available on this tour.
Big Eyes originated in New York in 2009 and moved to Seattle in 2011, where they embarked on a rigorous touring schedule. With big, poppy riffs and catchy choruses, the East Coast roots of Big Eyes shine through alongside a healthy does of grit, attitude and energy. With influences ranging from Cheap Trick and Alice Cooper to The Ramones, Descendents and The Muffs, fans of these aforementioned bands will all find something to love in Big Eyes.
