LOS ANGELES, CA, November 13, 2013 - Austin Lucas has been on the road since the release of his highly regarded new LP, Stay Reckless, which has received glowing praise from the New York Times, American Songwriter, Paste, CMT Edge and many more, and isn't slowing down any time soon. The Bloomington-bred, Nashville-based country crooner, just back from tours with Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires and John Moreland will take to the road again this month for a tour that will take him and his support acts, NY-based indie pop songstress Allison Weiss and folk-punk songwriter PJ Bond, across the East Coast, Midwest and Canada, including stops at theKnitting Factory in Brooklyn, Schubas in Chicago, Magic Stick in Detroit and Boston's Middle East. The run will begin in St. Louis on November 29 and include a solo set by roots rocker Trapper Schoepp and will conclude with a show supporting Gavin DeGraw at The Paramount in Huntington, NY. In February, Lucas will head to London for the Americana Music Association UK Showcase, alongside Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo and Hatful of Rain.

Lucas' first album for New West and fifth studio record overall has been garnering the best reviews of his career. The New York Times exclaimed: "Made of muscular and well-toned roots country...On the beautiful 'Alone In Memphis,' he's on the verge of collapse. And 'Rings' about broken covenants is pure heartbreak," while influential alt-country blog NineBullets.net remarked: "As far as I'm concerned it defines Americana better than any other single album in the past decade. In short this is one damn perfect record from start to finish." Paste said "his voice is comparative to many of the country and western greats, and his appeal spans far beyond genre lines and Orlando Weekly called it "a next level emergence," adding: "one of today's purest young country voices will finally get its full due."

Stay Reckless fuses elements of alt-country, classic rock, folk, punk, indie rock and bluegrass into a unique brand of Americana expertly produced by Mark Nevers best known for his work with Jason Isbell, Caitlin Rose and Bonnie Prince Billy. The album was written and recorded with long time friends alt-country rockers Glossary (featuring Joey Knieser on guitars, piano and organ, Eric Giles on drums, Bingham Barnes on bass, Kelly Knieser on backing vocals and Todd Beene ofLucero on pedal steel, guitars and percussion.

Born into a folk and bluegrass lineage, Lucas started singing at a young age and honed his vocal control as a member of the nationally acclaimed Indiana University Children's Choir where he sang in a variety of operas among other things. As a teen, punk's ideology and energy lured him away from playing the music of his childhood and for more than a decade he was a mainstay in the grindcore scene as either vocalist, guitarist or bassist in a number of bands including Rune, K10 Prospect, Twenty Third Chapter and the Prague-based Guided Cradle. After noticing the toll screaming in punk bands was having on his voice, he traded the brute force of that music for melody and returned to his Americana roots. He started writing songs on an acoustic guitar that were in the vein of the classic country, folk and bluegrass that his father, songwriter and bluegrass musician Bob Lucas been raised him on. In addition to Stay Reckless, Lucas has four other LPs, a collaborative album with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music and split 7-inches with Frank Turner and Cory Branan.
