New
Cassettes has partnered up with Artist
Direct to premiere the video for "Bite
Your Lip," the second single off the band's critically-acclaimed
sophomore album, Winterhead. The video was shot in a
warehouse in Austin, TX while the band was there for SxSW. New
Cassettes have also announced a fall tour supporting White
Arrows & Family of the Year, joining them on the road
in October hitting Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, DC, Atlanta and more. The
band will continue to tour through the Fall along the West Coast as well.
Expect additional tour dates to be announced shortly.
Winterhead was released in April on N13
Records via a partnership with MTV. The album received rave
reviews from critics and saw the band perform on Daytime
TV, Last.fm and Yahoo!
Music. Popmatters praises, "Winterhead is
user-friendly, hook-driven, guitar rock." The Owl Mag calls it
"Post-punk at its best....astunner for your ears to find their way through."
Winterhead was a follow up to the Silent Guns
Deluxe EP, which received accolades from AOL Spinner, PureVolume, Filter & RCRD
LBL. The album is a fascinating blend of indie rock, dance pop and new
wave. The five piece band from Northampton, UK have been leaving
audiences swooning since 2005 with spiky guitars going head to head with
propulsive rhythms and hook-filled choruses. The album was mixed by
Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of
Wayne and sound engineer Geoff Sanoff (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, School of Seven Bells).

"Propulsive, catchy beat-driven dance pop that sits nicely alongside
bands like Bloc Party and The Futureheads…their music makes me happy!"
- Nic Harcourt
“A rollicking Brit-rock number that's boisterous
and propulsive like a cousin to Arctic Monkeys or early Franz Ferdinand.”
- Emily Zemler, RCRD LBL
“Tight, new wave rock in the footsteps of Joy Division, if Joy Division were sunnier, and more sensitive about girls... combining clever dance rock and precocious balladry into a potent pop mix.”
- Suyeon Kim, MTV Iggy
“ If you like Arctic Monkeys or the Vaccines, check
out this track from New Cassettes.”
- AOL Spinner
“ New Cassettes have perfected the art of indie-rock
cool with the awesomely infectious ‘Silent Guns’."
- Alyssa Coluccio, PureVolume
“The British quintet plays dance-inspired post-punk not
unlike The Vaccines and Arctic Monkeys.
Their songs are hook-heavy, confident and incredibly polished.”
