Gainesville, Florida's Frameworks premiered their new track "Preamble" via Pitchfork today off their upcoming 4-way split with Kittyhawk, Prawn and Droughts out November 25th via Fair Weather Records. Pre-orders for the split will be available November 3rd. Pitchfork said of the band and the song, "Frameworks aspire to bury the listener in their own self-invented hyphenates, a tri-partite pile up in less than three minutes. In the interest of brevity, "melodic hardcore" is open-ended enough to fit the spirited, Titus Andronicus-style downstrokes and handclaps of the intro and the waltz-time midsection that could kinda accurately be described as "lounge screamo."
The post-hardcore quintet truly pushes every boundary of that label - managing to be intensely dynamic, irrepressibly poppy and at times even flirting with free-jazz. Though they've only released 2 EPs, 2011's Every Day Is the Same and this year's Small Victories, "Preamble" demonstrates how their defined genre is changing and establishes Frameworks as a band who are unafraid to push the envelope and pioneer their sound into new, strangely wonderful territories. The band is set to hit the studio with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor) this winter to record their debut full-length and will play Gainesville's The Fest 12 on October 31st at Mars.
