Mike Marsh is a world-renowned, award-winning drummer from Miami, FL with a career spanning over 20 years. He is best known for his tenure in Dashboard Confessional, as his drumming is featured on all studio albums and subsequent tours – most notably on Dashboard’s platinum-selling MTV Unplugged 2.0 CD/DVD, and gold records The Places You’ve Come to Fear the Most; A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar; and Dusk and Summer. Past tours included opening slots for Bon Jovi Weezer, Beck, & U2 and co-headlining the first-ever Rock Band tour with Panic at the Disco.
As well as being an accomplished drummer (Rick Rubin hand selected Mike to play on The Avett Brothers’ 2009 major label debut I and Love and You,) Mike is also a vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, engineer, and producer. Currently, he is engineering, producing, and playing drums on a record for Nashville-based indie-rockers Radar Vs Wolf. Mike also produced recordings for his first band, the legendary Miami punk/indie rock outfit, The Agency.
In 2008, Marsh began writing a series of songs that culminated in his first solo effort, PAPER. Blending Abacab and Duke era Genesis with his own modern style, Sunbeam is an honest and refreshing blast of prog-pop – providing fun, catchy songs with a dark twist that compel you to sing along at all turns.
“Music in one form or another has been in my life, all my life. From my Mom spinning everything from Country to Hard Rock to my brother bowing the walls with everything from The Beatles to Wasted Youth. I was surely raised on an eclectic array of music. I'd been writing songs for years before PAPER was even a thought.” said Marsh of his newly formed project.
