TEDDYBEARS: COMING TO AMERICA

Teddybears, the Swedish freak-dance-pop-gurus behind the big teddybear heads are coming to America to perform a string of tour dates in September. All three members, Patrik Arve, Joakim Åhlund, and Klas Åhlund will shred through the country presenting a full set of live vocals over a mix of live instrumentation and DJ backup. The performances will feature music from Teddybears' new album, Devil's Music (Big Beat/Atlantic). Having roots in hardcore punk during their early days, Teddybears prove with this record again that they are able to skew the perception of "pop" by incorporating multiple genres of influence.

Translating the weird vibrations of the hedonistic nudist rites of their native Sweden into their very own unique brand of modern psychedelic dance music, they have been able to create songs such as "Crystal Meth Christian" featuring Wayne Coyne (of The Flaming Lips) to expand their rock-n-roll bona fide status. It also doesn't hurt that they have a multitude of friends in high places. The stunning lineup of high profile collaborators on Devil's Music includes Cee-Lo Green, The B-52's, B.O.B., Eve, plus their good friend, long-time collaborator and fellow Swede, Robyn. Cee-Lo Green's recent performance of "Cho-Cha" at Lollapalooza, packed enough energy for tens of thousands of fans to hear and feel throughout the notoriously large festival grounds. Check out the official video for "Cho Cha" below, which features Jeff Turner (of the film I Think We're Alone Now) as the creepy stalking madman.
