Etana is happy to announce her first headlining North American tour in support of her critically-acclaimed third studio album Better Tomorrow on VP Records. The reggae songstress kicked off the tour last night in Decatur, GA and will continue to headline shows in over 20 U.S. cities - spanning the South, Northeast, Midwest and Western region. In addition to these more intimate club dates, she will be performing at major stage shows, including Portland's Northwest World Reggae Festival, Austin Reggae Festival, Summer Jam 2013 in West Palm Beach, FL as well as the Irie Music Festival in Toronto, Canada. Etana will be accompanied by her four-piece band and two back-up vocalists on the road to give fans the ultimate listening experience, which she captured on her latest effort Better Tomorrow. The new album is a marked departure from her previous material, including The Strong One (2008) and Free Expressions (2011), and is a true testament to her evolved sound. Etana's indomitable spirit and inspiring songwriting uplifts generations both old and new on a Better Tomorrow. Instead of incorporating Jamaica's popular digital riddims, she chose to be backed by all live instrumentation. The album's primary producer, Shane C. Brown of Kingston's Juke Boxx Productions, and Stanley "Rellee" Hayden of A-Team Music executed her vision. She recorded all fourteen tracks at Kingston's legendary Tuff Gong Studios with Jamaica's finest modern-day musicians - including saxophonist Dean Fraser, guitarist Lamont Savory, keyboarist Kevon Webster, drummer Kirk Bennett, bassist Aeion Hoilett and percussionist Uziah "Sticky" Thompson.
 
"I wanted this album to feel like a concert performance and have everything go together, like chapters in a book, with all of the tracks played live by musicians (not digitally generated)," Etana explained.

THE BODY: West Coast Live Excursion Begins This Weekend

Hot off of their recent tour through the Central and Northeast US regions following their recently-released Master, We Perish EP, nomadic duo THE BODY is set to embark on their newest auditory warfare excursion this weekend.

This Sunday, June 30th, THE BODY will join Los Crudos, Iron Lung, Talk Is Poison and more at This Is Not a Step Fest in Berkeley, California. Just a few days later, THE BODY will converge with Subservient Fuck for a counter-clockwise slice of touring, beginning in Arcata, California, crossing North to Portland and Seattle and then south through Western Cali with stops in Oakland, La Puente, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego and Sacramento confirmed.

Japanther is the music and art project of Matt Reilly and Ian Vanek. Known for their unconventional live performances, the duo has appeared alongside synchronized swimmers, giant dinosaurs & BMX bikers, atop the Williamsburg Bridge, with giant puppets and marionettes, and in the back of a moving truck. Now, they’re gearing up to tour the US in support of their new album, Eat Like Lisa Act Like Bart, which was released via Recess Records last month to praise from SPIN, Stereogum, VICE & more. The first official BLOW THE SCENE FEST 2013: Artists For Animals music fest takes place in Philadelphia this Saturday, June 29th atBroad Street Ministry. The gathering is part of a massive benefit drive in funding a no-kill animal shelter and rescue for PAWS.(Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society), and will include sets from motivated artists DROPDEAD, DEAD IN THE DIRT, IRON REAGAN,MASAKARI, HEARTLESS, BACKSLIDER, LESS LIFE and DYING. The gathering will also feature tabling info by PAWS, DIY bookstores, distros, and art from the adjacent Homeward Bound Art Show and more. Admission to the all-ages event will be $15, or $10 with a donation of blankets or supplies for PAWS. To help raise more awesomeness to promoting this event, Blow The Scene is coordinating world premieres with several of the bands taking part in the fest this week. NEW YORK - Anathema has announced its most extensive North American tour in the band's celebrated career with co-headliner Alcest and special guest Mamiffer. Anathema has only performed twice as a full band in North America at the infamous Milwaukee Metal Fest in 2000 and 2001, as well as supporting a few dates of Blackfield's 2011 tour as an acoustic duo. The fall 2013 co-headlining tour has the band visiting many cities in both the U.S. and Canada for the first time, beginning September 12 in Philadelphia, Pa. The tour will also coincide with the release of Universal, a concert film on CD/DVD and Blu-ray directed by acclaimed photographer/filmmaker Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, Opeth), out September 17, 2013 on Kscope. The audio / visual release captures a special one-off gig at the ancient Roman theatre of Philippopolis where the band was joined by the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra. The film and album capture the magic of this unique evening as the band started on its lengthy world tour in support of its most successful album, Weather Systems. Universal will be available as an audio visual CD/DVD and Blu-ray.   Anathema has been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement since its inception. To Perform Live Dates In The US And South America

Following their recent performance at the Fifth Annual Scion Fest in Memphis, CORROSION OF CONFORMITYhas announced live assaults for August. In addition to their already planned participation at Gwar’s annual BBQ, the trio will perform a headlining show in Wilmington, Delaware before heading to South America for a string of dates. The August shows mark a break from continued work in the recording studio on the band’s new album, expected for release in early 2014.

“We need a little escape from the studio,” comments vocalist/bassist Mike Dean. “We thought it would be good to see the light of the day a little bit. We are excited to play Brazil, Peru, Columbia, and Argentina for the first time ever. Of course returning to Mexico City and playing Gwar’s BBQ will be highlights for our summer as well. The new material is sounding really good but it’s time to get the perspective provided only by playing in front of a live audience. And we are talking about some very live audiences in this case.”

Updates regarding progress of the band’s forthcoming album came during the band’s late April West Coast tour with Danzig.  Dean said, “We have a lot of lyric writing to refine but a lot of solid musical arrangements are in place. We plan to begin basic tracking for half the songs as soon as we return to North Carolina.” The initial work on the still untitled album found the band not long out of the recording studio having recently completed their Scion/AV EP Megalodon. The special EP was included free to all customers to the band’s official webstore and is still available as a free download by clicking HERE. Dean notes, “The EP was written, recorded, and released in two months time.  It really challenged us in a good way.” In the meantime, fans can check out live footage of the band’s first-ever appearance in Chile at this year’s Metal Fest this past April at THIS LOCATION.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY released their self-titled album via Candlelight Records to high praise late February 2012. It was the first new material by the North Carolina trio since 2005. “Corrosion Of Conformity is what you want out of a comeback record: not just a reclaimation of lost vigor but a meaningful update on a vintage sound,” said Pitchfork. “The celebrated Animosity line-up displays a command of style far beyond anything their 1985 selves could have imagined,” added Decibel. The album debuted on Billboard’s Top 200 chart at position 157 and impacted CMJ’s Loud Rock chart at position 8 on its debut week before working its way up to the top spot.  It remained on the magazine’s popular radio chart Top 10 for eight weeks.

Formed in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY quickly transformed heavy music. The band has influenced countless new bands and today remains humble about their accomplishments.  To date, the band has sold over 1.1 million albums in the United States and continues to find new fans via non-stop touring.
