Falling Bough Wisdom Teeth was produced & engineered by Chris Shaw (WilcoPhishSuper Furry Animals), and pays homage to collective band influences & minimalist pioneer Steve Reich. The members of Kiev have strong connections to the world of visual art, and have orchestrated & added a multi-faceted 3D element to their live performances. Additionally, the LP art was originally a band favorite by renowned contemporary artist Walton Ford, who gave the band his blessing to use it as the cover for Falling Bough Wisdom Teeth upon hearing the record & how it spoke to his painting.

Stay tuned for more news from Kiev coming soon!

Jen Wood's new LP, Wilderness, out 10/14 (New Granada/Radar Light)

JEN WOOD IS SET TO RELEASE WILDERNESS ON OCTOBER 14, 2014 VIA RADAR LIGHT (VINYL)/NEW GRANADA (CD)--GET IN TOUCH FOR YOUR REVIEW COPY!

Wilderness, the new album from indie songstress Jen Wood, is a powerful collection of ten piano-based pop songs that showcase a refreshingly more bold and vibrant voice in Wood’s singing style; one that hasn’t been heard on her previous albums. Wilderness is rich in swells of beautiful soundscapes, gritty electronic melodies and a haunting timbre that slowly moves throughout. It is her first release since 2010’s Finds You In Love, and marks a sharp departure for the Seattle-based musician.
The driving force of Wood’s new sound highlights Gameboy/Chiptune melodies; composed by musician Andy Myers (Stenobot, Supercommuter), shaping Wood’s songs into the electronic/digital realm. The percussion arrangements took months of rehearsals, while Wood closely worked with drummer Alex Westcoat (Pickwick, Dave Bazan) to create dynamically interesting beats that melded perfectly with the feeling of each song; the thoughtfulness of the arrangements on Wilderness is undeniable.
“On this album, I’m playing everything on piano as the lead instrument. Not guitar,” Wood says, and elaborates, “I’ve been a guitar player for over twenty years and had barely any experience writing actual songs on piano. I didn’t plan on writing a piano record, it just happened. I bought an old 1930s piano and had a special connection with it. The minute I started playing that piano, the songs just poured out of me. I couldn’t stop writing.”
Wood goes on to explain that her new album “is about what happens when you lose yourself in another person or in a community, because I felt that a lot of what I was going through during the writing of this record was dealing with the pressure to conform to something that was foreign to me, and the disappointment and deception I experienced as I struggled to find my way back to my roots.”
“Where Real Love Is” reels the listener in with beautiful washes of lush swooning guitars and calming synth melodies. The atmosphere is thick and almost ethereal. The feeling of the song is calming, but there’s an assuredness in Wood’s voice as she sings “I will not fall into your trap / like an animal waiting to be killed.” Wood explains, “A lot of this song (and the album) also has to do with being exposed to Christian culture for the first time, and the impact it had on me. Some of it was good, but most of what I experienced and witnessed happening in the church was really disheartening and awful. At times I felt really silent and disempowered. The only way that I got out what I was truly thinking and feeling was by writing songs; I think music has always been my ‘voice’ in times where I felt silenced.”
Wilderness was recorded in a host of locations, including London Bridge Studio, Studio Litho, and two different home studios, with producers Joshua Myers (Jeremy Enigk, Rosie Thomas) and Steven Aguilar (The Head and the Heart, Moby, David Bazan).
In a career spanning more than two decades, beginning with the Riot Grrrl duo Tattle Tale and her 1997 debut album No More Wading, Wood has collaborated with many high-profile artists, lending her vocals to artists such as Jeremy Enigk (Sunny Day Real Estate) and the Postal Service, where she sang her famous duet “Nothing Better” with Ben Gibbard live during the band’s 10 year anniversary reunion tour.
Wilderness is scheduled to be released in North America on October 14th (on vinyl via Radar Light and on CD via New Granada), and also in Japan on indie label & Records, with bonus tracks not found on the U.S release.

INTERNAL BLEEDING: New York Death Metal Legion Issues Track-By-Track Video Teaser; Imperium Release Day Approaches

New York death metal legion, INTERNAL BLEEDING, will unleash their long-awaited new full-length,Imperium, to the masses this Fall via Unique Leader Records. Produced by the band alongside Joe Cincotta at Full Force Studio (Suffocation, Dehumanized, Mortal Decay) in Ronkonkoma, New York and engineered by Cincotta and Derek Boyer, Imperium boasts the menacing artwork of Mircea Gabriel Eftemie (Carcass, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, Nevermore et al) and spews forth some of the band's darkest, heaviest, and most sonically and musically cohesive material of their storied career. Additionally, Imperium includes a three-part trilogy featuring guest appearances by Suffocation's Terrance Hobbs and Frank Mullen as well as former INTERNAL BLEEDING throat Frank Rini. At once aurally pulverizing and conceptually strirring, Imperium smokes all its path! INTERNAL BLEEDING is clearly back and ready for a takeover.

In anticipation of its release, today INTERNAL BLEEDING brings fans a ten-plus-minute video examination of Imperium boasting interviews with individual members as well as snippets of each track.

Comments guitarist Chris Pervelis, "We wanted to try to give fans of the band a little bit of insight into each song from both a musical and lyrical perspective. Even though we feel the album is very cohesive and we're all on the same page musically, each member of the band has a different take on what is important and interesting about the album. It's these different perspectives that combine to make Imperium a very complete and well-rounded recording."

Check out the video along with an additional preorder teaser at THIS LOCATION.

Coinciding with the release of ImperiumINTERNAL BLEEDING will wage war on North America as part of this year's Carnival Of Death tour. Set to embark on October 3rd, 2014 in New York City, the trek will level more than two-dozen cities coming to a close on November 3rd, 2014, in Montreal. Set for Release September 23
& Massive Co-headlining North American Fall Tour
with Gladiator

First Single "Are We Faded" Out August 26
Preview "Are We Faded" on Billboard
After several months of patient waiting, fans of the three-piece live electronic sensation known as Keys N Krates are about to be rewarded by Every Nite, the fresh new EP from the Canadian musical masterminds. Still flying high off the success of their undeniably catchy hit "Dum Dee Dum," Keys N Krates are ready to launch into the next phase of their journey with this 6 track offering, which aptly demonstrates their evolution as a band, as well as their loyalty to the unique fusion of hip-hop and electronic music that they're known for. Set for release on September 23 on Dim Mak Records, Every Nite displays the seamless blend and complementary juxtaposition between the drums, keys, turntables, and live sampling that so clearly distinguishes Keys N Krates.

Ahead of the EP, Keys N Krates are presenting the first single "Are We Faded," which is set for release August 26. About "Are We Faded," Billboard says, "The new single, 'Are We Faded,' is dizzyingly sexy, pushing along at a slower tempo that's ideal for sweaty, middle-of-the-dance-pit grooving. It's carried by choppy female vocals that bounce around in tandem with the synths, vanishing every once in a while to let a low voice chime 'f-f-faded.'"

Keys N Krates have celebrated recent success with "Dum Dee Dum" (off theirSOLOW EP) nearing the 100k downloads sold mark (99,659 as of July 30), and with the accompanying video amassing more than 2.2 million views on YouTube. Other recent achievements include the Tove Lo flip of "Habits" into "All The Time," which has collected over 5 million Soundcloud plays, as well as the entirety of their acclaimedSOLOW EP, including "Treat Me Right," which shot to #1 on Hype Machine, received instantaneous support from figureheads such as Diplo and Flosstradamus and was debuted by Annie Mac in the UK. They have also been featured on some of the biggest and best festival stages around the world including HARD in Los Angeles, Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, and Lollapalooza in Chicago, with USA Today singling them out as emerging artists to catch.

In celebration of the Every Nite EP, Keys N Krates are embarking on a massive fall tour, co-headlining with Gladiator and with support from Thugli, that will take them across the expanse of North America. Aside from their noteworthy talent as producers and studio musicians, Keys N Krates truly set themselves apart by their performances, where they bring their live electronic instrumentation to the stage together as a band. With stops in Los Angeles, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and countless more, Keys N Krates are canvassing the continent making sure no fan gets left behind.
Loudpvck & Gladiator's new track "Tony" is set for release on Ultra Music August 12, following Gladiator's collaboration with A-Trak, a remix of Foster the People's "Best Friend." Also Joining Keys N Krates on the tour are fellow Torontonians, Thugli. Loved by Diplo, A-Trak, Flosstradamus and Bauuer for their distinctive sound, described as a hybrid of dirty south rap combined with a love of melodic builds and heavy synth, Thugli will be releasing their debut EP this fall, and their remix of Diplo & GTA's track "Boy Oh Boy" features on Diplo's new album.

THE ZENITH PASSAGE: Los Angeles Technical Death Metallers Unleash Pre-Production Track + Union Of Dissonance Tour Documentary Posted

Los Angeles technical death metallers, THE ZENITH PASSAGE, today unleash a new pre-production track entitled "Simulated Reality." The maniacal new tune will appear on the follow-up to their critically adored Cosmic Dissonance EP which MetalSucks applauded, noting that, "This is just the way tech-death should be, where good songwriting is just as important as the doodily-doo. These tunes will kick you in the balls and tickle your anus with a feather. They're fucking fantastic."

Sample "Simulated Reality" as well as THE ZENITH PASSAGE's hilarious near-half-hour Union of Dissonance West Coast tour documentary with Aegaeon, and guest appearances and performance from Archspire at THIS LOCATION.

It was in early 2012 that a small recording collaboration between two friends -- Justin McKinney and Greg Hampton -- began to coalesce into something that would prove to be well more than the sum of its parts. THE ZENITH PASSAGE may have come about from humble beginnings in a stuffy Los Angeles apartment, but the produce thereof is anything but humble. Even the earliest demo tracks delivered a relentless torrent of technical guitar work accompanied by a distinctly frenetic and brutal vocal delivery that has since become an unmistakable hallmark in a scene that is all too often the victim of stagnation. Far from being strictly a shredfest, TZP also incorporates a thematic backbone that draws inspiration from the chaotic and awesome destructive powers of our universe. Progressive interludes invoke a palpable sense of abstract dread and reverence for things beyond mortal comprehension. The atmosphere created clearly nods to inspiration drawn from the likes of Deeds of Flesh, Soreption, Fallujah, Severed Savior, and Aeon.

The project's initial offerings generated enough buzz in social media circles alone to convince the duo to redouble their efforts in earnest, and to begin seeking out members to complete their lineup. The subsequent release of a proper EP in January 2013 entitled Cosmic Dissonance catapulted TZP's recognition to previously unprecedented heights, greatly broadening their fan base, and catching the attention and admiration of some of California's foremost metal musicians. Not long thereafter, it was announced that Rob Maramonte (ex-Fallujah) would also be stepping in to lend his talents and fill the role of second guitarist and persistent scouting over the following months precipitated the addition of drummer Luis Matinez (Oblivion) into the mix.

With the onset of all these new developments, and the lineup nearing completion, it seemed only natural to take the next step and join the ranks of those by whom they had been so heavily influenced. Thus, in the summer of 2013, TZP had the honor of signing on with Unique Leader Records for a multi-album deal. The stage is currently set for TZP to secure their foothold in topmost reaches of the metal pantheon, and they are hard at work churning out new content for their debut full-length. Rest assured, this marks only the beginning.

THE ZENITH PASSAGE will record their debut full-length later this year for an early 2015 release via Unique Leader Records. Further details to be announced in the coming months.

About Tijuana Panthers and Wayne Interest:

Live and on record, the Tijuana Panthers are a great band. You could say garage, punk or surf while describing their sound, but they're harder to pin than that. The truth is that they write classic songs that don't depend on tropes from any genre. They craft perfect pop and deliver it with energy and immediacy. However, the real magic of this band is in their weirdness.

Behind their picturesque portraits of daily life is an aching despair. This subtle contrast creates an eerie tension between the ideal, the real and the surreal. You suddenly realize they're not the happy-go-lucky beach boys you tried to pin them as, but more akin to sexually frustrated soda jerks in a David Lynch film. And this all makes sense with the fact that they come from Southern California's shadier city of Long Beach, not exactly the fun in the sun that California dream- ers might expect.

For Wayne Interest, the Panthers team up with producer Richard Swift. The recordings took place at Swift's studio in Oregon where the band decidedly took risks in performance and production. The risks paid off. With Swift's direction and upgrade in fidelity, Wayne Interest sounds just as compelling in headphones as it would at a house party in East LA. It also gives the listener a closer look at the idiosyncrasies of the Tijuana Panthers, only making it clearer that there's something off about these creeps. Their weirdness, or bold- ness to be whoever they may be, is what makes this band great. It's a rare quality. The more you listen to the Tijuana Panthers the more you wonder about them.

Listen To Wand's "Broken Candle" | Debut Album Out 8/26 On God? Records

WAND SHARES "BROKEN CANDLE"

DEBUT ALBUM, GANGLION REEF, OUT AUGUST 26TH

TOUR KICKS OFF SEPTEMBER 3RD

"Ganglion Reef is a teeming, dream-steeped smear of songs that shines with the bent light of a cracked prism. . . ['Broken Candle'] pounds with garage-rock power, even as it lulls the listener to some dark corner of melody and melancholy." - The A.V. Club [Premiere of "Broken Candle"]

"if lead track 'Flying Golem' - a supremely melodic number laced with fuzz-drenced '60s riffs - is anything to go by, they could even usurp Tame Impala's colourful throne while they're at it." - NME [Buzz Band of the Week]

"true to the album name, Wand's music sends a shock directly towards the nervous system. . . Though Wand skews more to the psych side of the divide, there's a sweetness buried beneath the distortion." - KUTX [Song of the Day]

"'Flying Golem' sounds like it's named after a Castlevania monster and rocks with a big, confident three-chord stomp." - Amoeblog

Already recognized by the NME as a "Buzz Band of the Week" and featured on one of Uncut's excellently-curated Playlists of 2014, new rock band Wand are turning heads leading into the release of expansive debut album, Ganglion ReefThis Los Angeles-based four-piece, comprised of Cory Hanson (vocals, guitar, synth),Evan Burrows (drums), Daniel Martens (guitar), and Lee Landey (bass), jam senses, sounds and vibes through the circuits - and like magic: create plays of light and dark (and heavy!) for today's (and tomorrow's) mind-ears. After sharing the slaying "Flying Golem," Wand offers the more melodic, but equally righteous"Broken Candle," premiered yesterday via The A.V. Club.

Ganglion Reef is out August 26th via GOD?, the Drag City imprint run by Ty Segall. They will support Ty on a slew of dates this fall, followed by a handful of headline shows.

Fitz and The Tantrums roll into Chicago this week for a performance on the Lollapalooza Main Stage on Saturday, August 2, and an official Lollapalooza aftershow at the Metro on August 3, which is sold out. While in town, Fitz will be singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" at the Chicago Cubs vs. Colorado Rockies game this Thursday, July 31 at Wrigley Field.  On August 25, Fitz and The Tantrums will play a three-song set at the Opening Ceremony for the 2014 US Open in Arthur Ashe Stadium at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.  The performance will be carried live by ESPN as part of the cable network's comprehensive coverage of the US Open.

"Fool's Gold," the third single from Fitz and the Tantrum's acclaimed album, More Than Just A Dream(Elektra Records), launches at alternative radio on August 12. It can be streamed HERE now. The album's two preceding singles - "The Walker" and "Out Of My League" - have each been certified Gold. Both topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart  -- a feat accomplished by only three other artists in the chart's 25-year history. "The Walker" can be heard in the new Reebok advertising campaign, which is currently airing and can be seen HERE. The official video for "The Walker" was also nominated for a MTV Video Music Award for Best Editing this year.

"Their debut effort, 'Pickin' Up the Pieces' (Dangerbird), and follow-up, 'More Than Just a Dream' (Elektra), burst with danceable hooks," said The New York Times while USA Today noted, "the Los Angeles sextet is more than ready for the big leagues." "[More Than Just A Dream] folds neon-tinted synthesizers and arena-scaled hooks into Fitz's fiery trademark funk to create a big, bright new groove," said Rolling Stone andPaste praised it as the kind of album "where every single track wants to be a single, even the ballads; the kind that gets catchier and weirder with every spin." "Michael 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick understands what makes a good song...And co-vocalist Noelle Scaggs' charisma overflows," observed the Los Angeles Times and theWashington Post observed"their live show is captivatingly crazy."

Fitz and The Tantrums are: Fitz (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (vocals/tambourine), James King (saxophone), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), John Wicks (drums) and Joseph Karnes (bass).
