MARAUDER JOINS PITCH BLACK RECORDS

Fifth album by Greek classic metal legends!

Legendary Greek classic metal band MARAUDER have joined forces with Pitch Black Records. Having recently celebrated 22 years since the band was formed, with a number of metal anthems composed throughout the years and having established themselves as one of the most respected acts of the Greek metal scene, MARAUDER are now back with their fifth album, “Elegy of Blood”.

MARAUDER were formed in early 1990 and have since then performed live countless times in Greece and abroad, acquiring a huge following and the respect and admiration of many amongst their local scene.

Label owner Phivos Papadopoulos, commented on this particular signing: “When in the early 90’s I was writing (yes writing, not emailing) this band to send me their demo tape I never imagined that 20 years later they would be signing under my own record label. The decision to sign MARAUDER was instantaneous and it’s with great pleasure that we welcome the band to the PBR family, not just because of the personal factor but also because they are a kick-ass band that truly deserves as much recognition as possible!”

“Elegy of Blood” is comprised of ten PURE heavy metal songs. Powerful and passionate melodic metal compositions make this a highly anticipated release, particularly amongst the band’s die-hard fans. Released on May 15th, the album will be available through Pitch Black Records and its distribution partners as well as through major mp3 stores with the CD version including a bonus track.

A track taken off the album is available for streaming as well as a free download at www.pitchblackrecords.com along with more info about the band and cover artwork.

CATTLE DECAPITATION: New In-Studio Video Footage Posted

In anticipation of the upcoming release of their forthcoming new studio offering Monolith Of Inhumanity, today CATTLE DECAPITATION unveils a new in-studio video clip. Check out the guitar tracking process and other CATTLE-related commentary at THIS LOCATION where you’ll also get to hear “A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat.”

Monolith Of Inhumanity is set for a North American release on May 8, 2012. Commended by Stereokiller in an early review for being “their most focused and intelligent album yet… another solid CATTLE DECAPrelease that proves again that they are not to be fucked with,” and noted for being “arguably the quartet’s strongest effort to date,” by Blistering, the record was produced by Dave Otero of Denver's Flatline Audio and finds the progressive grind conjurers exploring innovative new techniques in song writing without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage.

In related news, CATTLE DECAPITATION is currently bringing their audio pummel to the stage on the Occupation Domination 2012 tour. The band is joined by Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings Of Saturn, Battlecross and more! Check out remaining dates below.

Finally, MetalSucks will be streaming Monolith Of Inhumanity in its entirety this coming Friday! Stay tuned for direct links!

ESMB launch tour w/ Future islands, headlining dates to follow in July

ESMB live

"Ed Schrader has built a wildman reputation for mixing shirtless, Mark Stewart-style post-punk free-association with completely unhinged tom-tom bashing - and, starkly, pretty much nothing else. In a too-quick 20-minutes, Jazz Mind recalls Neurosis, Swans, Big Black, the Death Set and pretty much the unfiltered, primordial joy of pounding on sh*t." -- SPIN

"Schrader's voice alternates between a low, Ian Curtis-esque bellow and a frenetic bark that recalls Andy Falkous of McClusky and Future of the Left. In other words, this is aggressive music, even in its quieter moments." -- Pop Matters

Baltimore duo Ed Schrader's Music Beat launch an East Coast tour today supporting their hometown synth-pop pals Future Islands. ESMB will then return to the road for extensive headlining dates beginning in July. Those shows will be announced soon, please see current dates below.

The duo recently premiered a second track from their new full length via SPIN Magazine. The hushed-yet-propulsive and eminently hummable song "My Mind Is Broken" is available todownload/stream HERE.

Pitchfork also recently posted the frenetic and incisive song "When I'm in a Car", featuring guest guitarist Randy Randall of No Age. It's an urgent blast of vitriol clocking in at a blazing one-minute and 14-seconds. Download/stream HERE

Previously better known as a partner in Dan Deacon's Wham City collective and performing solo with just voice and a floor tom, Ed Schrader has recently made inroads with ESMB by teaming up with bassist Devlin Rice and touring with Future Islands and Dan Deacon in the last year.

Watch a powerful 10-minute live video HERE. Check out videos of individual songs below.

Jazz Mind opens with the snarling fury of "Sermon", driven by Schrader's high-pitched wail over early-Swans style primal drumming and blurting bass. Turning on a dime, "Gem Asylum" is a sparse and compelling lullaby of delicately chanted vocals and hypnotic bass notes reminiscent of Chairs Missing era Wire. Elsewhere, when ESMB strips down the noise on "My Mind is Broken", "Air Show" and "Can't Stop Eating Sugar", there remains an icy intensity hearkening to Joy Division. Meanwhile, "Rats" and "Gas Station Attendant" explode with a rage and raw simplicity that's rare in an era of unlimited access to audio gloss. Jazz Mind is perhaps the closest one can come to inventive, unbridled emotion.

Jazz Mind is available on LP, CD and Download via Load Records, released March 20th, 2012.

SIX FEET UNDER: New “18 Days” Lyric Video Hosted By Bloody Disgusting

Today premier horror portal Bloody Disgusting hosts the latest “18 Days” lyric video from death metal merchants, SIX FEET UNDER. The apocalyptic hymn comes off the band’s forthcoming new studio effort, Undead, set for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records.
Notorious for his elegiac themes of murder, death and the supernatural, on Undead vocalist and lyrical mastermind Chris Barnes revisits topics that will be familiar to fans of the band, though as always he brings something new to the table, aware that their followers will not accept recycled ideas. Notes Barnes: “The hypocrisies of daily life, things that affect us that spawn aggression, loneliness, sadness, there’s a lot of emotions going on across the record, and I guess that the dark horror that humans cause is my niche,”

However, while Barnes has a very clear vision for his craft, he is always excited by the interpretations of his songs by those who listen to them, feeding on the emotional investment they put in. “I love it when people tell me what they’ve got from the music and the lyrics. It’s like being an artist, you put the painting up on the wall – you know what it is, but sometimes it’s a little abstract and someone sees something else in it, and that’s the biggest compliment to me. That I’m able to get inside someone’s head and they actually give thought to something presented to them is inspiring to me too, and something I always want to be able to do with this band.”

Peep the “18 Days” lyric video at THIS LOCATION.

Undead was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver), mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida and features the updated lineup of Barnes alongside guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson (ex-Massacre), bassist Jeff Hughell (ex-Brain Drill, ex-Vile), and drummer Kevin Talley (Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Chimaira). Last week Metal Blade TV aired an exclusive interview with Barnes as conducted by Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel. To check out the interview, as well as first single, "Formaldehyde,” and limited pre-order options, point your browser HERE

In conjunction with the release of UndeadSIX FEET UNDER will demolish the masses on a near three-week run of live rituals this June. The 18 Nights Of Blood Tour will begin in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8. Support will be provided by Dying Fetus and Revocation.

KISSIN' DYNAMITE: Full Album Streaming

In celebration of its official North American release earlier this week, AOL Music is currently streaming the entire new album from Germany's sleaze rock outfit KISSIN’ DYNAMITE. Crack a cold one and get your party-hard Friday night started with all 10 tracks of Money, Sex & Power AT THIS LOCATION.

The members of KISSIN’ DYNAMITE are readily available for interviews with North American mags and outlets immediately; the band can handle interrogations with journalists via phone, Skype and email.

Considered to be the great hope of the German hard rock scene, KISSIN’ DYNAMITE have dominated stages across Europe since the release of their debut album Steel Of Swabia in 2008, when the singer was just 16 years old!  After winning over crowd after crowd with their energetic live show and infectious anthems, the band's sophomore album Addicted To Metal was released by Germany's massive AFM Records in 2010, which even featured the legendary Udo Dirkschneider (Accept, U.D.O.) on the title track.

Their success and experiences over the past few years have shaped the band and increased their professionalism in every department, which is apparent on their  third full-length, Money, Sex & Power. Here KISSIN’ DYNAMITE release ten blazing numbers which still follow the classic metal path of previous releases, yet more than before they display their very own brand of sleazy heavy rock, inspired greatly from timeless masters of the art including Mötley Crue, Whitesnake, AC/DC and Guns 'N Roses. Money, Sex & Power showcases the band taking their authentic, raw, melodic and powerful songs to new levels, and sees them more determined to dominate the rock scene than ever before.

"...Money Sex & Power is a worthy follow up to their previous success, and shows a talented band maturing as they follow their musical path. 4/5" - Dangerdog Music Reviews

"Big, ballsy and full of attitude, this is what good time, hard hitting Rock music is meant to sound like! 4.5/5" - Sea of Tranquility

WHITECHAPEL Brand New Album Announced! - Tracklisting and Album Artwork Revealed

First Single "Hate Creation" Streaming Now

Having spent several years lauded as one of the frontrunners in their genre, in 2012WHITECHAPEL stand as a defining force in contemporary heavy music. Building dramatically on the trademarked bludgeon of their first three releases, with Whitechapel the Tennessean sextet have inarguably delivered their most intense, dynamic, and downright hostile record to date. Drenched in atmospheric darkness, the record is also rife with gripping melodies that drag the listener in to the tumult, willing or otherwise, and across its ten tracks it is infused with an emotional depth that pointedly separates the band from the plethora of two-dimensional mosh-starters that have sprung up in their wake.

Whitechapel, the band's self-titled fourth album, is slated for a June 19th release date via Metal Blade Records. Today WHITECHAPEL have unveiled the album artwork, tracklisting and released the first single from the album.

Whitechapel Tracklisting:
1)      Make it Bleed
2)      Hate Creation
3)      (Cult)uralist
4)      I, Dementia

New KILL DEVIL HILL SONG Streaming on Noisecreep

Debut Self-Titled Album Available May 22nd via SPV/Steamhammer

KILL DEVIL HILL the new project featuring acclaimed drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, Dio) and bassist Rex Brown, (Pantera, Down) guitar slinger Mark Zavon and lead vocalist Dewey Bragg will be released on May 22nd in North America via SPV/Steamhammer. The album will be available in a standard CD edition, iTunes digital download, and Double Gatefold LP.

Today Noisecreep is hosting an exclusive stream of another new track from KILL DEVIL HILL's self-titled debut. Get a first listen to the song "Voodoo Doll" HERE

It's not easy to say what catches the listener's attention first on Kill Devil Hill, the debut album by the newly formed band of the same name: the strong guitar hooks, the killer grooves, the dynamic production or the potent vocal melodies. Rex Brown, bassist of this super group and erstwhile member of Pantera and Down sees KILL DEVIL HILL in its entirety as an extremely exciting new band "To me, this band is a musical adventure trip," he reckons. Brown knows what he's talking about, after all he was involved in some of the most important rock and metal recordings of the past 30 years. So if Brown can hardly contain his enthusiasm, there must be something special to the KILL DEVIL HILL phenomenon.

ZZ Ward Preps For EP Release with More Allen Stone Dates

Genre-bending Songstress Joins Allen Stone For Additional Tour Dates, Makes Television Debut On "Last Call With Carson Daly"

The smoky rasp of ZZ Ward is turning heads across various continents, as this unique songstress has begun sharing her gritty blues-soaked, hip-hop inspired tracks live on tour with the soulful Allen Stone. Having just returned from a unanimously praised run in the UK, Ward will continue her trek alongside Stone for additional U.S. dates. This run will lead into the release of her debut EP, Criminal, due June 19 on Boardwalk/Hollywood Records.

The four-song EP showcases Ward's self-proclaimed "dirty blues with beats" and the debut title track features the husky growl of Freddie Gibbs, which flaunts the overall defining ingredients to Ward's musical amalgamation. She effortlessly straddles the two distinct genres of blues and hip-hop, making no attempt to shy away from either.

Ward first introduced us to her genre-bending style with her Eleven Rosesmixtape, a collection ofreinterpretations she churned out while in the studio working on her EP, and forthcoming debut LP. The musical collage showcased her musical dexterity and dripped with her signature attitude, as she fearlessly belted over known hip-hop favorites ranging from Tyler, The Creator to Childish Gambino. Now, she steps out with fresh new tunes, replete with new beats and her unmistakable belt.

Early EP acclaim from Esquire reads: "The first time we heard her smoky rasp, she was belting over the beat of Tyler, The Creator's 'Yonkers' on her own mixtape. ["Criminal"] swelters a little more slowly, but it's no less ballsy: Her wailing runs over rapper Freddie Gibbs' cameo damn near make this NSFW."
Meanwhile, Marie Claire gravitated toward forthcoming LP track "Last Love Song" and stated: "Whether her bluesy belting is accompanied by hip-hop beats or, as here, a gently plucked acoustic guitar, the palpable heartbreak in her voice will raise goose bumps down your spine."

Prior to joining Stone on the road, Ward tore through Austin, Texas during SXSW, playing numerous shows almost on a daily basis, which all culminated with an intimate sit down with "Last Call With Carson Daly." Not only did she perform acoustic renditions of three of her songs, "Last Love Song," "Put The Gun Down," and "Til The Casket Drops," she gave insight to her upbringing in Oregon, driving logging roads to sing hooks for hip-hop artists, selling CDs out of her car, and of course, her initiation into the world of blues.

Catch ZZ Ward as she winds through the country on this tour, and behold the San Francisco Bay Guardian's prediction: "The chanteuse's 'dirty blues with beats' sound has gathered its fair share of buzz and she seems to have the poise and the chops to become a star."

My Morning Jacket Announce August Tour Dates + Free MP3

With Very Special Guests Band of Horses
Shabazz Palaces Opens in Brooklyn

We are delighted to be sharing the stage with pals in Band Of Horses. We danced a beautiful dance together at Madison Square Garden and there is a lot of love between our camps. It's gonna be a good old-tyme thrill ride!" - Jim James

Shortly after completing their back to back tours in Japan and Australia, My Morning Jacket are taking their celebrated, exhilarating live show back on the road this August with the announcement of their North American tour, with Band Of Horses in support.

Since their sold out Madison Square show to end off 2011, they've played a triumphant performance at the Independent Spirit Awards in February and shared the stage with Preservation Hall Jazz Band commemorating their 50th Anniversary at Carnegie Hall. Jim James also completed a tour with New Multitudes (Jay FarrarWill Johnson andAnders Parker) in promotion of their album honoring Woody Guthrie. Additionally, the band has been busy curating the Forecastle Festival for the festival's 10th Anniversary, where they will conjointly be headlining the event along with Wilco and Bassnectar.

The band are showing no signs of slowing down in the months surrounding their tour. My Morning Jacket will be contributing to John Fogerty's new album, Wrote a Song for Everyone, which will be released this fall. In the month of June, they will complete a European tour making stops in Spain, The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Belgium and the United Kingdom. The band will also be headlining this year's Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee and Newport, Rhode Island's Newport Folk Festival, as well as performing at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival next month.

Commencing their tour in Denver, Colorado at Red Rocks on August 3rd and 4th, My Morning Jacket will be recording both performances and offering them as complimentary downloads to all ticket holders for those shows. Both My Morning Jacket and Band Of Horses are enthusiastic of hitting the road for the month long tour. "YES! We're touring with the incredible My Morning Jacket!” says lead singer Ben Bridwell. “So psyched to hit the road with our buddies and (hopefully) warm you all up for the greatest band going."
