and Films Video Dedicated to The People of Iran and their Supporters
On Tuesday, July 14, 2009, NYC-based Iranian band HYPERNOVA will take part in IRAN SO FAR AWAY, the music offshoot of IRAN INSIDE OUT, a groundbreaking exhibition that features 35 artists, living and working in Iran, some exhibiting for the first time abroad for the first time, alongside 21 others living in the Diaspora. Currently taking place at NYC's Chelsea Art Museum (556 West 22nd Street, NYC 10011) which began on June 26 and extends to September 5, 2009, this multifarious portrait of 56 contemporary Iranian artists challenge the conventional perceptions of Iran and Iranian art.
Originally scheduled for June 27th but moved to Tuesday, July 14th due to many unavoidable reasons including many resulting from the current heartbreaking situation in Iran, Iran So Far Away is the official focus on the musical output of Iranian artists both still living in Iran and those who now live elsewhere. Taking place on the roofdeck of the Chelsea Art Museum, the band will be taking part in panel discussions, artist Q&As and a live performance.
An interesting result of this musical exhibition is a musical collaboration with Hypernova vocalist Raam, singer/songwriter Ali Eskandarian, Landlord vocalist Esfand, and Electric Black vocalist Johnny B., who have recently wrote, recorded and filmed a song and video called "Freedom, Glory, Be Our Name" under the moniker The Freedom Glory Project. "Freedom, Glory, Be Our Name" is dedicated to the people of Iran and the citizens of the world who stand with them and can be downloaded free at www.freedomgloryproject.com. The video, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nariman Hamed can be viewed on the website as well.
Hypernova's debut album Through the Chaos is slated to be released in September 2009 (label TBA) and was produced by Herwig Maurer and mixed by Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, No Doubt, Marilyn Manson). Their music has earned the attention of media outlets as varied as ABC News, LA Times, NY Times, MTV, and Anthem Magazine and has been described quite accurately by NPR as cut from the same cloth as "The Strokes, the Arctic Monkeys and Queens of the Stone Age."

Freedom song for iran on www.youtube.com/jaxmusik by german project JAX
The original "Wir sind das Volk" english "We changed the world" is a tribute to the 1989 peaceful revolution in eastgermany that tore the Berlin Wall down.
The farsi version was done as music and film by exil iranians to support green movement. Cause demonstrants shouted in iran as well "We are the people ... not dust"
