Harrasor shares new video, "Into Unknown Depths" out now on Dais Records!

Unrelenting raw black metal fused with punishing death-laced thrash punk, L.A.’s hate fueled trio Harassor drop their newest statement of destruction and apocalypse on Dais Records with Into Unknown Depths.  For the past 10 years, the band’s output has seen releases on HuskNostilevo and their own Rising Beast and Universal Consciousness imprints, which lead to the bands arrival on the Southern Lord’s lauded 2011 compilation The Power of the Riff. Singer Pete Majors blood splattered live performances use black metal tradition but appropriate the bleak landscapes of their own creation to recognize their hellish, bleak dismissal of the human race.  Drummer Sandor GF (a.k.a Lord Time) alongside guitarist James “Roach” Brown III (a.k.a. the infamous Lord Foul / Moonknight) pull together a demonic metal assault of unholy blasphemy and sinister hostility.  Subversive as it is demonic, Into Unknown Depths reeks of true underground blackened hate.

The album is out officially this week and the band is sharing the brand new video for "Winter's Triumph" right now, stream it below!

Sweet Cobra Announces Summer European Tour Dates w/ Auxes Beginning June 12th

“...dense and fierce, dizzyingly propelled by a coarse weave of drums and the brutal dynamic between instruments.” - Pitchfork

“The band sound possessed by their angst, letting melody seep into the proceedings only when it’s convenient for their next wave of heavy.” - Alternative Press

“...a near-perfect blend of maximum distortion and memorable melody.” - Lambgoat

Following the announcement of their upcoming new album, titled "Earth," set for release later this year, prolific Chicago noise-rock three-piece Sweet Cobra has just announced their upcoming European tour with friends Auxes, featuring members of celebrated 90's experimental punk band Milemarker.

Recorded by Matt Talbot (Hum) and Kurt Ballou (Converge) at Earth Analog Studios in Champaign, IL (mixed by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios Nov 2013), the new Sweet Cobra album follows the band’s previous full-length album “Mercy” released in 2010 on Black Market Activities.

About Sweet Cobra:

The sonic assault of Sweet Cobra has been described by critics as everything from "hypnotic, riff-driven mayhem" to "sludgy groove with hardcore intensity." Still, that doesn't do their unmistakably original sound justice. Parallels can be drawn to Torche’s rapturous hooks, High On Fire’s hellbound riffing, and Young Widows’ stomping rhythms, but Sweet Cobra has always rocked with its own unique voice – earnest, driving, anthemic songs that are equally pummeling and trance-inducing.

A pillar of the underground for almost a decade now, SWEET COBRA was founded in Chicago in 2002 by bassist/vocalist Botchy Vasquez (The Killing Tree, Milemarker) and drummer Jason Gagovski (Suicide Note). Through the mid-00’s, the band released acclaimed music through Seventh Rule Recordings (Akimbo, Indian) and Gagovski’s own Hawthorne Street Records, and toured with the likes of Pelican, Russian Circles, Black Cobra, Doomriders, The Life And Times, and Young Widows.

In 2009 SWEET COBRA entered Volume Studio in Chicago with producer Sanford Parker (Pelican, Nachtmystium) to record its third full-length: Mercy for Black Market Activities. Mercy is a masterpiece of urgent, honest aggression, channeled into unforgettable songs. It is the definition of SWEET COBRA - ripping yet atmospheric, rocking yet angry as hell. Mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Trap Them) at Godcity Studio and mastered by Carl Saff (Coliseum, White Drugs), Mercy features guest appearances by Robert Lowe (Lichens) and Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), among others. Album art comes courtesy of William Test.

BL'AST!: First East Coast US Shows In Over Two Decades Confirmed

In addition to their upcoming European tour and stateside performance at This Is Hardcore Fest, reformed Santa Cruz hardcore act BL'AST has just confirmed several upcoming July East Coast gigs.

As previously announced, following their invasion of the European continent -- beginning at the massive Hellfest in Clission, France on June 21st, and running through Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark on July 4th -- BL'AST will take part in the four-day Philadelphia-based This Is Hardcore Fest. But this week an additional pair of shows has just added, with BL'AST now confirmed to hit New York City and Boston preceding the festival. The new BL'AST! live lineup sees original vocalist Clifford Dinsmore (Dusted Angel, Gargantula) and guitarist Mike Neider (LAB) joined by Nick Oliveri (Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator) on bass and Joey Castillo (Queens Of The Stone Age, Danzig, Eagles Of Death Metal, Goatsnake, Wasted Youth) on drums. In 2013 Southern Lord released the newly-revamped vintage recordings from BL'AST! in the form of the Blood! LP, the recording mixed by Dave Grohl at his 606 Studios on the legendary Neve console as featured in the recent Grohl-produced documentary Sound City. Then in March of this year the label released The Expression Of Power, including several different sessions/recordings of the band's seminal debut LP, The Power of Expression. BL'AST!'s boundary-pushing form of hardcore, advanced musicianship, unstoppable energy and intense perseverance is as prominent now as it ever was.

WO FAT: Dallas Swampadelic Fuzz Faction Premieres New Track At Revolver; European Trek Underway

Dallas swampadelic fuzz faction, WO-FAT, today drops a brand new resin-coated canticle for your bong-ripping enjoyment. Titled "The Conjuring," the smoke-fueled number comes by way of the band's forthcoming new full-length of the same name.

Much in the same vein as their last two offerings - 2012's The Black Code and 2011's Noche del Chupacabra - The Conjuring boasts big jams and brawny riffs, the sort of record that turns the vaguely interested into converts and makes the corners on squares look even sharper. Guitarist/vocalist Kent Stump, bassist Tim Wilson and drummer/backing vocalist Michael Walter are jazz-combo tight and their roll is easy and natural, much like Fu Manchu, but far bigger and in the case of The Conjuring, far darker. There's been a creature lurking in the woods since WO FAT's 2006 debut, The Gathering Dark.Their second album, 2009's Psychedelonaut, pulled back on the threat some to lighten the mood, but whether it's the motor-driven rush of "Read The Omens" or the you're-already-lost-in-it riff-exploration of seventeen-minute closer "Dreamwalker," The Conjuring is indeed a backwoods ritual. Bluesmen have sold their souls for less. Topped off with a mastering job from Nolan Brett at Stump's studio and an otherworldly cover courtesy of Alexander Von Wieding, the beast that WO FAT's tectonic riffage calls to earth has never seemed more real or more alive than it does on The Conjuring.

Get down with the contact high of "The Conjuring," now smoking out the airwaves of Revolver at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, check out "Beggar's Bargain" at THIS LOCATION.

The Conjuring will drop via Small Stone on June 17th, 2014 on CD, vinyl, and digitally. The vinyl edition -- 180 gram vinyl with deluxe jacket and poly-lined sleeves -- comes in transparent red orblack, each limited to 250 copies.

In related news, WO FAT is currently levying their stoner rituals overseas on a twelve-date trek that commenced on May 27th in London. The journey includes an appearance at the illustrious Freak Valley Festival (today) sharing the stage with Truckfighters, Blues Pill, Solstafir, Mothership and more!

WO-FAT Live 2014 [remaning dates]:

Clear Plastic Masks' debut album out now to widespread critical acclaim

“The churning, galvanic, righteously messy surge and crash of 1960s rock is their heritage, full of loose ends and live wires; they’ve got firm roots without settling down in the slightest.”—The New York Times

“Nashville’s burgeoning rock ‘n’ roll music scene just got even better with the release of Clear Plastic Masks’ Being There.”—Associated Press

“…scorching garage rock with nothing to hide: just pummeling percussion, desperate yowls that recall Jack White before he became Jack White, and a whole lot of scrappy guitar fuzz that should please Black Lips worshipers.”—SPIN

“Ramshackle rock with a retro flair is the best way I can describe it. Yet even with its looseness, it makes quite an impact.”—KCRW

 “…bluesy, punk—and soul—informed rock ‘n’ roll…”—Nashville Scene

Being There, the full-length debut album from Clear Plastic Masks, is out now on Serpents & Snakes Records (iTunesAmazon). Already receiving widespread critical acclaim, the Associated Press praises, “righteous rock…songs shake with power and promise,” while SPIN calls the album, “…raw…” and “…brawling…” and KCRW asserts, “incredible…raucous rock, played loose and scrappy the way only a very talented group of musicians can.” Additionally, the official music video for the new single “So Real” recently premiered at Noisey and can now be viewed/embedded here.

After recently wrapping a series of dates supporting White Denim (which the LA Record called, “brilliant”) and performing at SXSW (which theAustin Chronicle called, “…with live-wire tenacity and a masterful sense of pacing: slow builds, breakdowns, rave-ups.”), the band is currently in the midst of a nationwide U.S. tour, including a series of dates supporting Spanish Gold. See below for complete details.

Formed in 2011 in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, CPM relocated to Nashville in 2012 where they recorded their debut album at The Bomb Shelter with Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray for The Riff Raff). The 4-piece band is made up of Eddy DuQuesne (bass/keys), Charlie Garmendia (drums), Andrew Katz (guitar/keys/vocal) and Matt Menold (guitar/keys). In addition to CPM, the band-members recently launched a side-project with Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard, entitled Thunderbitch.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
DEBUT NEW TRACK

"The Neighbourhood aren't a group usually associated with hip-hop - but they soon will be. They're putting together a new mixtape - titled #000000 & #FFFFFF - which features a bunch of up-and-coming rap stars. They've put out three tracks and we've got the exclusive on the fourth. It's called "Jealousy" and features Casey Veggies and 100s - the latter of whom has literally teleported down from the purple mothershipwhere Andre 3000, Prince, and George Clinton reside."

The Neighbourhood’s new project #000000 & #FFFFFF will be out later this year. Vocalist Jesse Rutherford says about the album, “"#000000 & #FFFFFF is a diary of songs that are inspired by our thoughts while on the road. It exposes our anxiety, rejoices in our achievement and expresses our ability to create whatever the fuck we want. It’s our freedom to explore popular music as we know it. It’s not us as a band… it’s us as a sound."
Three tracks are available now, listen at Live Mixtapes.
