Italian Alt/Prog Metal Band KLOGR Releases New Benefit Single 'Zero Tolerance' on iTunes - Select Funds to Fight Dolphin Slaughter in Taiji via Sea Shepherd

zero tolerance

Today, Italian metal band KLOGR reveals their brand new single ‘Zero Tolerance’, which takes inspiration from the dolphin slaughter taking place every year in the bay of Taiji, Japan. The track creates awareness about the killing and captivity of these animals caused by men for unnecessary reasons. The track is available now for purchase via iTunes in the U.S. here.

The track orates, "Greedy man you're looking for new wealth, what are you gonna do when everything is wasted?"

KLOGR takes environmental awareness very seriously. All funds earned from the first 500 ‘Zero Tolerance’ track downloads via iTunes will be distributed to non-profit marine wildlife conservation organization Sea Shepherd to fight against dolphin slaughter in Taiji.

A music video for ‘Zero Tolerance’ will soon be released (directed by Davide Cilloni of Eklipse Design) featuring images from a Sea Shepherd documentary.

‘Zero Tolerance’ appears on KLOGR’s powerful upcoming full-length album Black Snow hitting stores on April 29, 2014 via ZETA FACTORY for physical and Believe for digital. Recorded between Zeta Factory and Green River studios, the album was produced by KLOGR frontman and mastermind Rusty and Tancredi Barbuscia.Black Snow will be released in a special digital edition including the band’s 2011’s Till You Turn EP andGround Zero 11-11-11 Live. Check out an album trailer here: http://youtu.be/eH787F2MTBM

KLOGR is a massive force to be reckoned with. Recognized around the globe for melding their heavy alternative and progressive influences, the band captivates fans with a fresh sound currently missing from the metal world. An immense anathema against the destructive acts operated by human kind, the band’s new album Black Snowdelivers colossal tunes supported by flawless production.  The album is a powerful work of raw rage— reaching towering and aggressive points while leaving room for beautiful, charismatic melodies and hypnotic atmospheres. The lyrics on Black Snow are about a broken world where a prompt reaction is mandatory and there's no room for hesitation, faking or excuses.

This concept comes as no surprise, as KLOGR actively supports the international organization Sea Shepherd in defense and protection of marine wild-life along with artists like AerosmithRed Hot Chili Peppers and Gojira, to name a few.

About RATKING:

Don't ask Ratking for ID. If the accent and the attitude don't give it away, the shout outs to Canal Street and Lenox, the shitting on NYU kids infecting Washington Square Park, and the references to Puerto Rican judo will. This is the rotten manzana in 2014, under fire from all angles, but still able to spawn something as grimy as So It Goes, the debut LP on XL imprint Hot Charity, from arsonist MCs Wiki and Hak, and producer, Sporting Life.

You can't understand how a city should sound, if you don't understand how it feels. And you can hear it in Wiki's caustic sneer: "20 degrees outside. Toasted." It's not something you can absorb in several months or years. Poisons need time to seep into your pulse. Vital cities and vital artists are always in a state of flux. And so Ratking are self-described mutts: what would happen if you crossed Diplomatic Immunity with Merriweather Post Pavilion.

"New York is my planet," says Wiki, 20, who grew up on the Upper Westside. "But it's the New York of today. I'm not trying to glamorize some old fucked up NYC."

Wiki met Harlem-raised Hak, now 19, when they were both in the 2nd Grade. They've been friends and conspirators ever since. Sporting Life, 32, hails from Virginia but has been in the city since 2005.  The group's genesis dates to a series of e-mails between Wiki and Sporting Life. Eventually met at a rap show and soon started serious collaboration.

The sound isn't the boom-bap and outmoded slang of '95. The circumstances have changed but the melting pot mentality and cold-blooded skepticism remain. You can hear the Krylon color and syllable-avalanche of Big Punisher and Cam'ron, but it's an entirely fresh twist. As Wiki spits on "Protein:" this ain't 90s revival/it's earlier/it's tribal revival."

It's returning to the essence. Don't twist it into carbon-copy kids thinking they can pick up an MPC and re-create the Fat Beats era. This is rap as smashing atoms not trying to replicate Main Source. So grime and jungle and No Wave are twisted into the Swisher. The feel is dirt under your fingernails, turnstile-hopping anarchy. You don't have to bomb trains to still bomb the system.
"The Internet makes a lot of people scared. They hedge their bets and that's the worst place to be. We experiment without fear," says Sporting Life.

It's this mentality that earned the group raves out the gate. Shortly after the release of their 2012 Wiki93 EP, the New York Times hailed them as "clever, sardonic and intense...a product of the city - not just the physical streets, but also a frame of mind and a set of experiences." The Fader raved that Wiki's flow is as "nasty as his broken tooth." Complex said that So It Goes' first single, "Canal" is "the perfect blend of old-school sensibility with modern energy."

The experiments of So It Goes were recorded between DJ Dog Dick's studio in Greenpoint and Just Blaze's Stadium Red. Young Guru, famed for his work with Jay Z, engineered it. King Krule, Wavy Spice, and Salomon Faye pop up to trade bars and hooks.  These are the details that you may or may not remember. But the restless energy will stick with you.

It's the feeling of spitting on pedestrians from a 20-story building or the raspy stoned neon chaos of late nights and early mornings in the city. A similar punk-rap fuck-the-world ethos of The Beastie Boys and Biggie or the post-punk funk of Television and Suicide. New York, same as it never was.
"We're trying to take the music we love and push it forward. That's the only way you can make it iller. You can't just use the same equation," Wiki says. "We're trying to take that intensity of the past greats and spit it back in an entirely different formation."

PRAISE FOR "JOHNNY AND MARY"

"Terje and Ferry deliver a lovingly dedicated homage and a remarkable discovery of a classic song's hidden possibilities." - Pitchfork [BEST NEW TRACK]

"The cover is far less jittery than the original; it's actually pretty eerie. And perfect." - Flavorwire

"Together, the pair transform the New Wave ballad into something more sweeping and romantic, with Terje's churning keys and ambient synth serving as the evocative backdrop for Ferry's low, breathy croon." - Consequence of Sound

"['Johnny and Mary'] manages to capture that era perfectly. The track almost sounds as if it could have been produced by a young Vangelis with its slowly simmering synthesizer pulses and plasticky, reverberating synth-piano, and Ferry's voice quite rightly snuggles in like a kitten in a basket." - FACT

Many Arms
Announce Summer Northeast Tour Dates
in Support of New Album "Suspended Definition" Out April 29th on Tzadik Records!

Stream "Greater Mass" from Many Arms exclusively @ Tiny Mix Tapes!

"'Greater Mass,' the heavy-fisted debut song off Many Arms’ new album Suspended Definition, is built on a violent dialogue between electric guitar and saxophone, two instruments that equally revolutionized the eras in which they were introduced. - Tiny Mix Tapes

"Philly trio Many Arms play white hot Zappa-on-SST jazz-punk in athletic, hypnotic 15-minute excursions." - SPIN

"Fiercely frenetic, blaring and precise as hell, Many Arms mathy-cum-berserk cacophony journeys into a Brainiac universe of face-melting prog-guitar lickage supported by a ridiculous rhythm section whose time signature chug-chug fries minds." - The Village Voice

"...devastatingly complex and repetitious prog-inspired, punk-jazz riffs and soloage loaded with dizzying time-signature fits that only jazz disciples would be able to hold down." - Dusted

In support of their upcoming new album, "Suspended Definition" out April 29th on John Zorn's Tzadik Records, and following their March 19th appearance at Town Hall (as part of Zorn's Masada Book Three Concert), Philadelphia-based, experimental power-trio Many Arms are announcing plans to head out on a Summer US tour, taking the band throughout the majority of the Northeast and into select cities in Canada.

About Many Arms:

Philadelphia and New York-based Many Arms are a power trio in the truest sense of the term. The band’s music is a loud, aggressive blend of punk and free jazz, tied together with compositions that twist and turn through angular unison melodies and complex rhythmic vamps.

They've also recorded and toured with no-input mixing guru Toshimaru Nakamura and will perform on John Zorn's Masada Book Three premier concert at Town Hall in March 2014.

To date, Many Arms have released three full-length albums and one EP. In 2014, the not-for-proft cooperative record label Tzadik Records (owned and operated by composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist John Zorn) will release the band's new full-length,Suspended Definition, their second release for the label. DWELLERS: Heavy Rock Trio To Release Pagan Fruit This May Via Small Stone; Preorders + Track Previews Available

Salt Lake City-based, self-dubbed "gut rock" trio, DWELLERS, is pleased to spread the seed of their sophomore full-length, Pagan Fruit, later this Spring via the amplifier-advocates at Small Stone Records.

The nine-track long player was recorded and engineered by Andy Patterson (SubRosa, Catholic Girls) at The Boars Nest in Salt Lake City, Utah, mixed by Eric Hoegemeyer (Luder) at Tree Laboratory in Brooklyn, New York and mastered by Chris Goosman (Sasquatch, Early, Five Horse Johnson, Acid King) at Baseline Audio Labs in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Swathed in the chilling, alluring otherworldly cover art by Adrian Brouchy (Kongh, Black Cowgirl, Dead Rooster), Pagan Fruit follows in the still-echoing sonic shockwaves of DWELLERS' enthusiastically received 2012 debut, Good Morning Harakiri, which saw the newly-assembled trio of vocalist/guitarist Joey Toscano, bassist Dave Jones, and drummer Zach Hatsis pooling together their impressive prior musical credentials (Toscano with psych-metal adventurers Iota; Jones and Hatsis with doom/goth atmospheric bandits, SubRosa) with staggeringly powerful and memorable results.

Now, the terrible triplets are confident they can one-up themselves with Pagan Fruit: An album that both exceeds the lysergic power chord trip initiated on that first album, and expands the band's collectively creative horizons into realms heretofore unexplored. Beyond the multifaceted influences, both subliminal and overt, picked up by discerning listeners on Good Morning Harakiri - influences ranging from Hawkwind to Soundgarden, Monster Magnet to Captain Beyond, Sons of Otis to the Screaming Trees - the songs/seeds found on DWELLERSPagan Fruit reveal novel, dynamically varied musical touchstones as far reaching as vintage Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Goat's Head Soup-period Stones. Commends Blurt Magazine upon early inspection, "the record filters doomy blues rock through a blotter of shimmering desert psych, balancing Toscano's skilled axework with songwriting stepped up several notches from the group's 2012 debut."

Pagan Fruit Track Listing:
1. Creature Comfort
2. Totem Crawler
3. Return To The Sky
4. Rare Eagle
5. Son Of Raven
6. Devoured By Lions
7. Spirit Of The Staircase
8. Waiting On Winter
9. Call Of The Hallowed Horn

DWELLERS:
Joey Toscano: vocals, guitars, harmonica
Dave Jones: bass, organ
Zach Hatsis: drums, vibraphone, Rhodes piano, synth, tambourine
Additional Musicians on Pagan Fruit:
Genevieve Smith: cello on "Spirit Of The Staircase"
Raven Quinn: vocals on "Call Of The Hallowed Horn"

Ascend to a higher plane of consciousness with the aid of your helpful guides, DWELLERS. Pagan Fruit will be available for consumption via Small Stone May 6th, 2014. Preorders as well as a taste of tracks of "Creature Comfort" and "Rare Eagle" available at THIS LOCATION.

PRAISE FOR MEXICAN COKE:

"Nashville bruisers Denney and the Jets make music that imagines the Rolling Stones circa-Exile, hemmed in by a burger-a-day budget. You can hear undercurrents of country (there's a clearly discernible twang in that guitar) and soul (the foot-stomp rhythms and unmistakable sense of groove), all of them filtered through a loose-and-easy, garage-rock sensibility.
-- eMusic's Wondering Sound

"If there's one thing...Denney and the Jets do well, it's making Stones-y, drug-addled, Southern-fried juke-joint jams."
-- Nashville Scene

Bedroom eyes shine dewily upon these tracks, carrying melting melodies through perfectly minimal compositions, as undertones of New Jack Swing carry a punch that sways with each hook right on target.

Working days at an emergency room, Vidmar returns to his loft in Portland's inner Eastside industrial district to craft his sultry pop-R&B into the mystical pre-dawn hours. As much as Vidmar is part of a growing R&B resurgence, he stands apart from the herd of "avant-R&B" artists thanks to his crystal clear production. The tenderness of his art is never submerged in the muck and mire of dissonance, making for a refreshing and universally alluring listen. Vidmar's swoon-worthy voice is already in demand for vocal features: He partnered with producer extraordinaire Cyril Hahn on the blissed-out dance jam "Perfect Form", and has lent his vocal prowess to a track on the forthcoming album of Chicago's cosmonaut house duo Supreme Cuts. As well, he has already seen online love and praise for his six-minute seduction "Under Attack" (which features a gourd-blowing celestial sax solo from tUnE-yArDs' Noah Bernstein) and its far out remix by The-Drum. The first proper Shy Girls release, an EP of devastating slow jams and woozy club cuts entitled Timeshare, is out now.
