NEW YORK, NY -- Jacksonville, Florida's platinum rockers THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS have been hard at work since early July in the Valley Village, California studio of rock super-producer Howard Benson (Hoobastank, P.O.D., Less Than Jake, Daughtry, Seether, All-American Rejects), recording the follow-up to DON'T YOU FAKE IT, one of the longest-running breakthrough albums in recent rock history.

The rock quintet comprised of Ronnie Winter (lead vocals), Elias Reidy (guitar, backing vocals), Duke Kitchens (guitar, piano, vocals), Joey Westwood (bass, vocals) and Jon Wilkes (drums, vocals) forged a rare bond of closeness and healing with listeners from their very first single "Face Down," an unsparing, full-throated cry against domestic violence.

The album DON'T YOU FAKE IT charted for 62 weeks on Billboard's Top 200 while "Face Down" stayed atop the Top 20 Modern Rock airplay list until chart rules mandated its retirement after 52 weeks. Additionally, "Face Down" has sold over 1.5 million digital singles and been streamed over 16.6 million times on MySpace. In fact, nearly a year after the July 2006 release of the album, several of the tracks are still going strong, collectively garnering close to 50 million streams on the band's MySpace page. Another track of note "Your Guardian Angel" was adopted as a touchstone anthem of both solemn and festive occasions: in addition to 10.2 million MySpace spins and 455,000 single downloads, thousands of Facebook and YouTube photo flipbooks and videos appeared with the images of loved ones set to the song, not to mention the countless plays received at weddings, school gatherings and proms, while "Damn Regret" and "False Pretense" are both nearing 100,000 single downloads apiece.

The overwhelming response to the band recently prompted RJA to send regrets via their MySpace page to their now-worldwide fanbase that they would not be joining this summer's Warped Tour. Although RJA have been fan favorites for three years running, they assured fans that the time was being well-spent in the studio and even more productive than anticipated with Benson behind the board.

Since the release of DON'T YOU FAKE IT, RJA has also been an active force for a wide array of charitable organizations and social causes, including teen suicide prevention, mental health parity and a strong commitment to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. In addition to these charitable commitments, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Guardian Angel Foundation has been formed as an umbrella group to support under funded high school band programs, to promote and enhance student musical development; support individuals affected by domestic violence, to break the cycle of abuse; and contribute to research that focuses on management of acute hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients.

The new CD is slated for release in early 2009.

DELERIUM on tour

Electronic music pioneers DELERIUM have announced the D-Tour 2008 North American Tour, which kicks off in Vancouver September 11 and ends in Atlanta October 4. This marks the first major tour for front man Bill Leeb and Delerium in five years. Fans can expect guest vocalists from past Delerium albums to make special appearances, including Sixpence None The Richer’s Leigh Nash and chanteuse Kristy Thirsk. Up and coming fellow Nettwerk artists Elsiane and Morgan Page will support the entire 16-date run.

Delerium has also been spending time in the studio working on their next project, an acoustic session that will be comprised of past hit singles as well as two new tracks. Since the release of their Nettwerk debut album Semantic Spaces in 1995, Delerium have gone on to sell over a million albums in North America alone, and are also known for a string of successful singles, including the worldwide dance smash “Silence” (featuring the talents of superstar Sarah McLachlan), which sold over 300,000 copies in the UK. Other hits have included “After All,” “Innocente (Falling In Love),” “Underwater” and “Heaven’s Earth.”

Montreal’s Elsiane--Elsieanne Caplette and Stephane Sotto--joins the bill in support of their debut album Hybrid (August 5), which CBC Radio 3 called “mind blowing.” Los Angeles-based electro house producer Morgan Page rounds out the bill with his up-tempo grooves that continue to top the Billboard Club play charts. The track “Longest Road” from his album Elevate (March 2008) was his first original chart-topper, making it all the way to #2 on the Billboard Hot Club Play Chart, sandwiched between megawatts Madonna and Michael Jackson.

"Pop music is for sheep and we are shepherds disguised as wolves" - Laibach

LAIBACH announce details of a new DVD, VOLK DEAD IN TRBOVLJE (out September 2, 2008). Laibach will also return to the US for their first U.S. tour in four years in September.

The DVD was filmed during the extensive tour based on Laibach’s acclaimed album, VOLK, a collection of interpretations of national anthems which includes the national anthem for NSK, the State in time without territory and national boundaries which Laibach have been linked with since its formation in 1992.

On the album, Laibach uncovering a common ground linking the nations, a shared patriotic sentiment based around the bloody and violent foundations of nation which here, can be heard in the lyrics and pomp of the largely hymnal tracks. By reinterpreting the music and translating the lyrics of each anthem, the band have not only shown us this common ground, they have also offered up a very pertinent comment on today's political situation and a warning for future generations.

VOLK DEAD IN TRBOVLJE shows their concert in Trbovlje, Slovenia, the industrial town associated with the birthplace of Laibach in 1980.

As a bonus, the DVD offers a collection of some of the most relevant screens that were projected during the show, animated stories of some of the most important songs. The Laibach music videos associated with VOLK are part of the content too. The project ends with a tour medley, a short video commentary as a souvenir from some of the places where Laibach have toured with VOLK.

Open Letter to Sen. John McCain from Matt Friction & The Pink Spiders

Steve Schmidt, McCain 2008 Senior Advisor
P.O. Box 16118
Arlington, VA 22215

Sen. John McCain
United States Senate
241 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510

August 19, 2008

Dear Senator McCain,

We were bummed to hear that Jackson Browne recently sued you over your use of his song "Running on Empty" in a campaign ad. We, The Pink Spiders, think it's uncool that someone would try and mess with your quest for total Republican world domination. Here's the thing: most 18-30-year-olds have no idea who the hell that guy is. I mean, has his song ever been on MTV's Total Request Live? Or an iPod commercial? We think not.

That said, we understand your genius in using contemporary music to reflect your concerns for your constituency, and we figured we could help you out by letting you use one of our ultra-popular smash hits for your next campaign ad. We're young and good-looking, something your campaign could use a dose of.

Take, for example, our new single "Gimme Chemicals." This one speaks directly to many of the issues that your voters care about: a national health care system, medical insurance reform, and especially the skyrocketing costs of the many prescription pharmaceuticals that folks your age are known to take in mass quantities. We all know how much you senior citizens like to party with those "little blue pills," right?

And if that song doesn't catch your attention, there's plenty more from our brand new record, Sweat It Out (for release on Sept. 23), that pretty much speak for themselves in telling voters what to expect from a McCain Presidency: "Here Comes Trouble," "Settling For You," "Stranglehold," "Trust No One," and "Falling With Every Step." Isn't it a crazy coincidence that pretty much ALL of our songs work for your campaign? Wow. See for yourself -- click here to preview all our tracks.

The Pink Spiders and John McCain: it's a match made in heaven. With our help, we think you'll be elected Supreme Emperor of America with no Sweat.

Rock on, (as Paris Hilton said) "old grey-haired dude!"

The Pink Spiders

The first single, “There Will Be Blood” was released late last week to DJ’s in Europe and is currently a bullet on the DAC charts in Germany.

Margaret Cho's Return to TV and new tour dates!!!!!

July 28, 2008 - Los Angeles, CA - The incomparable Margaret Cho returned to her stand-up roots with her brand new one-woman show called “Beautiful” earlier this Spring to a string of sold-out shows. With the huge success of that tour, Margaret is proud to announce that “Beautiful” has been extended thru the Fall with new shows beginning September 5. Tickets for many of the markets will go on sale to the public this Friday, August 1, 2008.

Beautiful, presented by VH1 and LOGO, received rave reviews on its first outing like this one from The Boston Globe – “Cho was larger than life on the video screen above her - all the better to see her masterful facial expressions. The Woman is Fearless.”

In describing what “Beautiful” means to her, Margaret explains, “I want to explore the nature of beauty. What is funny and scary about it, why we often don’t feel beautiful because our society’s standards are so rigid and unattainable. A DJ once asked me, ‘What if you woke up tomorrow and you were beautiful, what would you do? If you were, blonde, blue-eyed, 5 foot 11 and weighed 100 pounds, what would you do?!?’ Well, I probably wouldn’t get up in that case, because I’d be too weak to stand. If that is his only idea of beauty then I feel really sorry for him. I want everyone to feel beautiful and I want to do it with laughter. Why not feel good about ourselves?”

In other news, Margaret will return to series television for the first time in over 10 years with her brand new show “The Cho Show” beginning Thursday, August 21. “The Cho Show” will follow the irrepressible Margaret Cho and her eccentric entourage as she fights to be herself in an industry that in the past wanted her to be something different. “The Cho Show” blends Margaret’s real life with some imaginative and comical situations that touch upon all aspects of Margaret’s “anything goes” lifestyle. From the complicated and awkward moments with her somewhat traditional Korean parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cho, to the more irreverent and outrageous experiences shared with her colorful cast of friends and colleagues, “The Cho Show” invites viewers into Margaret’s unique reality. The Cho family is joined by her no-nonsense assistant Selene Luna and her “Glam Squad”: John Stapleton (make-up), John Blaine (hair stylist), and Charlie
Altuna (wardrobe) who help her keep it together from head to toe. Viewers will get the opportunity to meet the people that provide her with plenty of material in her stand-up routines and follow the journey of this pioneering comedian.

In addition Margaret has been invited as a guest on E! Television’s “Chelsea Lately” show Wednesday, August 20 and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” Friday, September 5.

Comedian Liam Sullivan, known as internet sensation "Kelly," will be opening for Margaret in several cities on the tour. Liam has gained quite a cult following from his online short films, including his hit video, "Shoes," which has garnered over 40 million cumulative views and made him the second most watched comedian on YouTube. Liam won the 2008 People's Choice Award for Best User Generated Video for “Shoes.” Liam was a crowd pleaser as his character Kelly in Margaret's Off-Broadway variety show, The Sensuous Woman, and is sure to be a riot on her upcoming tour as he showcases new videos and characters. For more info on Liam, visit

Los Angeles based, Transgendered, Stand-up Comedian, Ian Harvie will open other select dates on the tour. Ian shares his keen wit with observations about life, family, relationships, and even his fears of public restrooms. No matter how you identify your own sexuality, Ian’s humor will quickly help you feel like family. You’ve seen him on MTV's Logo Network: OutLaugh on Wisecrack. Ian also has his own monthly live, self-titled, comedy/talk show in Los Angeles. Ian has entertained such guests as Jane Lynch, Jorja Fox, Alan Cumming, and of course, Margaret Cho. Segments of The Ian Harvie Show may be viewed online at
